Today i started to watch "2x2 Shinobuden", and after a while, i noticed Onsokumaru sounded familiar... and yeah it was, he is voiced by the same seiyuu as Flame Convoy
Well....G1 Ratchet is Papa Smurf, G1 Cliffjumper and Bluestreak are Scoobie Doo's Shaggy, and G1 Megatron is Scoobie Doo's Fred (and Wheelie). Sooo... yeah. VAs are tallented people that can go from serious to silly.
Ah, 2x2 Shinobuden. A flawless anime, except for the fact that it's only 12 episodes long. Incidentally, because of Wakamoto Norio's performance as both characters, I have a disturbingly hilarious fanart in the works. I'll try to get it done by the end of the month. And yes, it's fun to learn what other roles TF voice actors have played. Honestly, I was floored when I learned Frank Welker was Fred. Mainly because I knew him mostly from his animal sounds before Megatron (and Fred).
And I recall hearing that Peter Cullen at one point voiced Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh... Leading me to from then on have a mental image of Optimus shouting "[Optimus]Autobots![/Optimus]...[Eeyore]Where's my tail[/Eeyore]...." as they prepare to leave the Ark.
for me it was the other wa, i was expecting Onsokumaru to scream "Death Flame" or even "Mastah Galvaaaaatoruun" Even though i knew about the american VAs voicing many different roles, it was weird to start hearing Onsokumaru with the same exact voice of Flame Convoy btw, what the heck does Gabora means?
Yeah, I was also waiting for a Flame Convoy-reference, but it never came. Though the G Gundam reference near the end of the series is priceless. As for Gabora, I don't think it means anything.
When I was younger I thaught I heard Cheetors voice coming out of a talking school bus on some kids show! Who knows it might of been?
Yes, gabora doesn't mean a thing really. It's just Onsakamaru's trademark word, which is almost a custom in most anime. For example, using the word "nya" to end your sentences is another example of a smiliar thing. It's not quite the same though, but you get the basic idea. Just for those that are unaware nya=cat noise/meow. A similiar yet different example would be how most anime has children slurr their words to sound more cute. It's just something you'd expect out a young kid with a limited speech vocabulary, and it's just darn cute. Anime has lots of little things like that you pick up as you go along ^_^
