You wait and you wait. You walk in to the toy isle, and scan the shelves. For all of 2010 and the better first half of 2011, your local walmart was doing a good job keeping up with Generations.
But Warpath and Wheeljack never come. They never show. So you buy them online in a pack with Thundercracker, who you really don't actually want. And for a few dollars extra then retail.
You wait for them to come in the mail. you get them, you love them. You hate Thundercracker...
And then they show up at your store the week after... I could have gotten Wheeljack and Warpath at retail for a combined price of 22 dollars... whereas I ended up spending 53 dollars online...

Why, God? Must you toy with me like this?

Eh, it's better than missing out on the figures entirely, if you wanted them.

Well, considering that my shit town still hasn't gotten wave 2 & 3 dotm deluxes or voyager shockwave (let alone the fact that countless figures like Kup, Wheeljack & Thundercracker never surfaced & probably never will), I'm pretty close to giving up on finding anything I want in stores all together & simply being content with the fact that it comes with the territory. (I just realized that this last part would've worked so much better if I lived in one of the "territories" instead of BC)

Also, I think it's a safe to say that finding a better deal than the one you previously took is to be expected no matter the game, so I'm sure plenty of other collectors will continue relate.

The only Generations I got totally burned on was Warpath. Panic buy. Lesson learned...and you know what, I'd be ecstatic if Hasbro hadn't managed to keep them shipping through DotM.

I love this rant, although it sucks that you had to waste money on something that you didn't want. :(

Right. Join the club. I didn't like it either but what can you do? It's the chance you take, it's all part of the hobby, unfortunately.

That's how it works. I buy RTS Jazz off Amazon for 22 bucks. I find him the next in Kohl's for 15 dollars. That kinda stuff happens to all of us, we gotta just bite the bullet and deal with it. It does suck though :/

You could have spent ~$500 on the Botcon 2007 seekers only to have them all eventually released at retail in arguably superior decos.....*sigh*

I hear you. I traded my giant leader class starscream mint & complete for a warpath a while back, and now he is in my local target for $12.

Is it sad that you guys over in the States have a hard time finding these two, and yet they are shelf warming like hell in Australia.

I never have this problem. Here in aus deluxes retail for $24-30au depending on the store, even on clearance the best you'll get is $15 and theres never anything good left by the time that price tag rings up.... So ordering from BBTS+international shipping -currency conversion always ends up cheaper. Always!

    Unfortunately true.

    hah. Irony.
    True that, true that.

I could not care less for the seeker mold. I would buy it for skywarp... or MAYBE Starscream, but only because I like those characters.
I was patient as I could be before I broke...
    That is arguably worse.
The seeker mold really bothers me.

Could be worse. My friend got a Chopsaw I picked up for him when someone returned their junk figures to Walmart after buying a case of scouts and taking the Windchargers. He'd resigned himself to not getting Windcharger for the prices he goes for.

When he opened it, it had Windcharger's instructions in Chopsaw's package.

As he put it "That's like a giant F*** You from the toy gods".

Every time I hear rants like this, it reminds me of the time I bought the Shockwave/BB and Sunstorm/Ratchet 2 packs for $50 total, roughly 2 days before they both went on accidental sale for $5 each! Spent $40 than I had too.

Ehh, its just one of those things that sucks.

I think what would be worse is if you hated the figures AND paid more than you should have. Wheeljack and Warpath are a couple of my personal favorites, so as long as you're not paying a ridiculous price for each one, no big deal :)
