I don't know much about em besides that fact that it would come in handy, and I am planning on driving a long trip within next week or so, so I have been looking at different kinds on the internet and I am completely lost as to which one would be good for me. I imagine a few people on here have them and would love some input on which ones work well, which GPS units to avoid and etc. Do they require a monthly fee to use them? I don't wanna spend too much money, I did a quick search on google and found this Amazon.com: Garmin nüvi 1390/1390T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Traffic: Electronics which had good ratings but again I don't know much about these and if I am gonna spend like $150 on a GPS I wanna make sure I get a good one with no problems. If anyone would help me out it I would be very grateful cause I have so much going on right now I am stressed enough as is.

I've just heard people say to get the ones with lifetime updates and Traffic alerts too. Just depends on the size and screen that you like.

I have the Garmin nuvi 255WT. It's pretty good, except I had about a 50/50 on finding locations with the search. I drove to BotCon from SoCal last year using it, but when I used the search function for campgrounds it kept taking me to KOAs that didn't exist and restaurants that had long been closed. As a whole though, the system works pretty well. You only pay when you purchase it and it does give you live traffic updates.

Plus, the nuvi has downloadable cursors. I have Bumblebee on my Bumblebee :p

Just be sure to get one with free maps or you'll spend $50+ every couple years on updates.

    I love Garmin btw.

Whatever you get, just make sure you don't leave it in the glove box of your unlocked car for some filthy dirtbag asshole to steal.

I have the Garmin Nuvi and while it's good, there are some things about it I don't like. For example, the algorithms used refuses to offer routes that slightly backtrack even if it means that short backtracking gets you to a highway which will still cut time.

After I got my smart phone, I use Googlemaps along with my Nuvi to find the best route.

I have a TomTom and so far I have been pleased with it. If you want one I would check out the TomTom XXL 550TM. If TomTom is not your bag, whatever you do happen to go with make sure that it has lifetime Traffic and Maps otherwise you will be raped. It will be cheaper for me to upgrade to the newer unit mentioned than sticking with the one that I do have which is a 330XL which I have been pretty happy with.

Awesome thank you all that has replied. Once I get done making dinner since I just got home from work I will check out the ones you guys posted and go from there. I'll make sure to keep on a note to look for ones that have free lifetime updates.

@firehawc_69 is there any Decepticons to choose from? :lol

Yup, it has Optimus in both modes. All the TF icons come in both modes I think. I had Optimus as my icon for a while until they made a SDF-1 as well as Hikaru Ichijo's VF-1J.

Check Costco if you're a member. They usually have pretty good prices on Garmins.

Damn, no Starscream... but hell yeah for Blackout! :rock

I'll have to check Costco, I rarely go there, I know my parents are members there so I will have to drag them along to check it out. :lol

Though there's no Sideways in bot mode, there's an Audi R8 in the Sport Cars section. Also red and yellow Lamborghinis.

There's also Movie Jazz in both modes.
