So, I live right next to San Diego, so I was confident I was going to be able to get SDCC Bruticus from FOC.
I just recently discovered that all the tickets were permanently sold out for SDCC.

    So I need some advice...

I absolutely CAN NOT go with the retail version of Bruticus, and I don't want to go out of my way to collect some inaccurate G2 colors, which I admit are cool, but first of all, it's not accurate and second of all, I am very sensitive about continuity and stuff with my toys... so why would they use camo colors? :p

Anyway, the point is, I REALLY need that SDCC version... so I need some advice like I already said twice. The HasbroToyShop seems like a good option... but someone told me it crashed last year, and plus Bruticus would probably sell out faster. eBay would probably get me him, but that is obviously VERY expensive... and I have never painted toys before so yeah...

    Should I...
    1. Try to get him off HasbroToyShop?
    2. Try to get him off eBay?
    3. Try to paint retail into accurate colors?

you could always ask around, see if someone who is going to Comic-Con will Buy it for you at the Con and pay them in advance for the figure

If you can't get it off Hasbro Toy Shop, I suggest you get him off eBay. There was this good off with the G.I Joe Sgt Slaughter figure few years back? Hasbro claimed that they would be on Hasbro Toy Shop but they either appeared in very limited quantity or did not appear at all. Eventually, I picked both versions of the Sarge on eBay.

Hasbro Toy Shop is your best bet for obtaining the figure at the original price. Is it a pain in the ass? Absolutely. If you're really determined you'll be sitting on HTS with the rest of us hitting F5 for hours.

I've already resigned myself to the fact that I will be buying these for as cheap as possible (retail) and then modding/painting as I see fit...otherwise...get another board member to score it for you...

    "inaccurate G2 colors"?

The retail version of Bruticus is not meant to be G2, seems inspired by Energon. It is not "accurate" to the game or G2, but is not meant to be. The exclusive G2 version is accurate to G2, but not accurate to the game, but again not meant to be.

Anyway... why do you have to decide which one you will do? Try to get it from HTS. If that fails, try to get it from ebay. If that fails or is just too much, paint a retail one.

Thanks for the input everybody, I had a quoted post ready, but then I accidentally closed the tab... anyway, I think I'll try to get it off HTS and then eBay if I can't get it off HTS.

    But I have questions...

When will Bruticus be on HTS, if at all? And in what categories? Also, I know the difference between retail and G2, I was referring to the exclusive whenever I mentioned the camo colors and stuff, not the retail, which I know is Energon.

I had another question but I forgot it... >.<

Go to HTS, if that doesn't work, check B/S/T and Ebay

I was going to do that... now. Hey, do you think BBTS would have Bruticus at any point? (SDCC version...)

Also, I need those questions above your post answered. :p

I'm not sure what set this off... he doesn't want to go out of his way for the G2 version since it's not accurate, and he doesn't want the retail because it's ugly.

But yeah, HTS or bust, I suppose. EBay will be expensive.

Just like how BBTS and TFsource got limited amounts of the Botcon's, its possible they get a limited amount from SDCC but thats usually if someone from there goes. I've got to get one of these so If it has to be 200$ on ebay, so be it. but HTS is definately going to be checked first.

Yeah... I want to know that, and at what time?

:lol  I agree. I will do ANYTHING for that, except sing Bieber's "Baby" in public.

I would, however, sing CaptainSparklez's "Revenge" in public.

For the record, you tend to need to get SDCC tickets months in advance to the convention. It's HUGE with a HUGE attendance, and tickets sell out long before the con actually starts!

But yea, best bet if you don't want to deal with secondary market prices is to ask someone who's going to help you out. I'm probably going to get a set on Ebay, myself.

The monday right after the con.

    So, the next day.
What time will he be on the store? :p
If I do get him off of HTS, it better arrive by July 22nd (my birthday)

    Yes, the day after it.
