I want to jump on the "commander armor" train, but I don't know where to start.
    I need some advice!
    how expensive is it?
can it be found for less?
    which add ons are worthwhile?
how should I go about purchasing it?
which base robot should I buy, classics prime or magnus?
    All aid is appreciated!

Ultra Magnus City Commander can be preordered at BBTS, Toyarena, or TFSource for $90

He's the best of the bunch. You should get Classics Ultra Magnus to go with him but if that's to expensive a Classics Optimus Prime will be a decent substitute in robot mode.

I'd go with this option and then decide to buy more later if you like them.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new city commander will come with the trailer that turns into an armor, a small gun, and missile launchers for $90.

The old city commander did not come with missile launchers and is the old mold so the launchers have no place to peg on in trailer mode. His price shot up from $80 to $150-$200 but you're better off with the new, cheaper mold.

The DIA Powered Commander does not have the gun but has the missile launchers. It has chrome so goes better with Henkei Prime but Classics Prime is fine. Cost $120

The TFCon Exclusive Powered Commander has no chrome but has the missile launchers and an energon suitcase the DIA does not. Classics Prime. Cost $150-$250 but he's not sold in stores.

The Shadow Commander goes with SDCC Nemesis Prime. No small gun, no missile launchers, but has a sword. $90. Nemesis Prime can be found for $35-$40 on ebay and the boards.

magnus is harder to get, as its price went up
shadow commander also has 2 faces, one with mouth, and a mouthplate version as well
bbts has the small gun and launchers for order at $12 or so, very reasonable, so i got shadow commander and will repaint the launchers, its just black over the white, too easy

Ultra Magnus. It's what the toy was made for.

Lucky for you, FansProject is reissuing the trailer with new goodies. And for under a bill.

I just paid over 2 for mine a couple months ago, before news of this went out. Super lame.
