I feel like an idiot asking here, but what the hell. How do I fit 24, 3 x 5 tiles in to a 17 x 22 tile setting, I know it can be done, but I do not know how to arrange them to work, any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    It can't be done.

EDIT: or rather, it can, but you'll have a bunch of space left over.

Well, the most you should have over is 14 units ...

    17 x 22 = 374

    3 x 5 = 15 x 24 = 360

So an optimal layout should only have 14 leftover spaces (anymore blocks would overflow).

    I came up with this:

Are you actually packing things in a box like this? if so, you could move the vertical ones (5-8, 17-20) to the very top and bottom of the layout and then your free space is arranged in a nice little 2x7 area in the middle for stuffing something else into. :)
