I thought the ending was kind of abrupt. Is this supposed to be a series of books or somehing? I really wouldn't mind learning about the backstory of how things happened.

I thought it was abrupt too. Kinda just left you hanging. However, it was the best King to come out in a long time. I will not read another weird ass word of Lisey's Story. That was the worst piece of crap I have read in a long time. Anyway, Cell was decent and worth the read, but the ending could have been better.

I read the first few chapters.

Never understood why cell phones made people go quasi-zombie and start eating each other. Someone explain?

I'm not sure there really is one. The hypothesis from characters within the book is that there was some signal broadcast through the phones. Actually, after the initial chapters, its really not about zombies anymore, and more about what they become.

Actuall correct answer though: plot device.

They start gathering in groups and becoming more like a "hive-mind", to put it simply.

I loved that book, but I will agree the ending sucked balls. I couldn't put it down until I was done, and after reading the end, I was pissed. So good, until the end.

Yeah, the ending was a bit weak. Still, the good thing about King is that even when the plot falls flat, its still well written.

I don't know where that idea came from that it was supposed to be a series, I thought it was always a stand alone title.

They all became "zombiefied hive minded" from a pulse that was sent via cell signal.

The book was decent, but I will agree that it could have used a better ending. Definitely not one of King's best, but a decent weekend read.
