...Metroplex. I was a bit disappointed because Metroplex wasn't in it much. But I have to know what it was he was protecting that was soo damn important that he had to hide?

I think it was Alpha Trion that he was protecting, or maybe just the massive stores of Energon he had inside him.

I had assumed that Metroplex was protecting Alpha Trion and the technology they used to repair the atmosphere on Cybertron, effectively healing the planet.

Be interesting if there was something else though.

To be honest, the issue was Spotlight: Throttlebots, with a Metroplex surprise cameo at the end. And I read it that way and really enjoyed it cuz the Throttlebots were pretty fun and got some characterization for a change...plus having an independent Goldbug who had nothing to do with Bumblebee was cool.

But yeah if you read it for the sake of Metroplex as the name implies, it does very little other than introduce him and create a boatload of mystery that we still haven't seemingly resolved. Doh.

But my other question is what happened to the Throttlebots? Are they still stuck on that planet or what?

Good question. If Metro was guarding the Matrix, then at what time frame was Megatron able to snatch it from a defeated Optimus at the start of ALL Hail Megatron?

Annual is what it sounds like. It comes along just once a year. Basically, it's an excuse to push out another comic of the same name during that month.

To give you a quick history lesson, annuals were once a year extra paged special issues that comic companies used to put out that reprinted stories for fans who didn't buy the monthly issues or who just wanted a bigger collection of stories. Later on though, comic companies used it as a way to put out stories they couldn't tell in the regular monthly issues, whether because it didn't fit in that well (i.e. crossover event ) or because it was filler material they later passed on as well as special information, such as background or primers on characters etc. Of course, it could also double as an extra sized issue in case the monthly book needed a longer book to tell their stories in. Over the years, though the specialness of the annual as declined, since comic book companies have difficulty putting talent onto their annuals or even special events, but back in the day, they used it as an opportunity to tell great stories with artists they know who couldnt do monthly books (i.e. Art Adams on X-Men) or the aforementioned special events (The wedding of Spider-Man & MJ, Reed Richards & Sue Storm)
