Hey guys after leaving school in the middle of the afternoon with my mom we went shopping at Wal-Mart and some groceries in Rockland, ON. Then after we picked up some Subway and we left to go home when suddenly a Ford Escape back into the road and my Mom's Toyota Corrolla smashed right into the Ford Escape. The Air Bags luckily deployed but the smell that came off the Air Bags......EWWW.

Me and my mom got right out of the Corrolla and the guy (a young adult who believe it or not graduated from the same school i go to last year) got out of his Escape, Mom and the guy started talking apparently he didn't see my mom's Corrolla he saw a white truck comming his way that's why the accident happened. Funny enough the car crash happened outside of another Subway store. :lol  As My mom and the young man started exchanging information and all that crap. Meanwhile the whole ordeal had caused me to start crying. Yes i cried out in public. Call me a sissy, I was scared shitless. Eventually Paramedics/Fire department showed up, the man driving his girlfriend kinda injured her neck (she wasn't wearing a seatbelt) she's fine now. The Corrolla's front bumper is totaled, the windshield glass shattered. My Leg kinda got hurt but it's fine now really. Anyways i was just driven home a couple minutes ago by my grandfather who picked me and Mom up.

Funny thing about the whole accident My Mom was planning to buy a brand new Kia Rondo after she came back from her holiday in Florida. :lol  That Corrolla was drivable for over 11 years now. Great, trusty car. :rip  Corrolla. You will be missed.

I don't really see how any humor could be taken from a car accident...

Ironic that she was about to get a new car anyway, yes, but not funny.

I don't know, my friend's sister lost her life in a car accident so I guess I don't look at them as anything but serious.

I was in an accident a few years ago, when some idiot in a pick-up truck went through a red light and smashed into my Mum's car. Probably the scariest thing in my life, the car was completely totaled.

I said it was sorta funny. There was a lot of irony enough to make it funny.

I'm also sorry about your friend's sister. The ordeal for me was hard. I'm still kinda shaken up on it.

From my experiences... it's always the Corolla fault. :D

I've never been in an accident, yet. I have considered "accidents".

Anyway, glad you survived. Was the Subway delicious?

Is your mom okay? Glad there was no serious harm. (that we know of)

Also I didn't laugh, but I guess it was not "haha" funny so much as "crashpain" funny.

Don't worry about crying in public. I did when I got into my first accident, although it was a relatively serious accident but I wasn't driving. I was pretty hysterical for about three minutes. I was in a van full of geeks (we were on our way to an out of town convention) and got hit head on by a SUV going 40 or so miles an hour on a rural road.

The SUV flipped into a drainage ditch (one of their passengers-an old lady- was taken to the hospital) but the rest were fine and were able to get out of the car. Our van got flipped 360 degrees and totaled.

In our van, the driver's knee was shattered, one passenger had an arm dislocated, one had serious whiplash, a sprained wrist, and lots of bruises. I got lucky with some nasty bruised shins. I wasn't wearing a seat-belt. But in my defense, it was a really old van and my seat didn't have a working seat-belt.

After six hours and everyone made it back from the hospital, we made it to the convention.

And guess what? We had another car accident. It was another driver from our group two days later though. It was raining, we were on the interstate, and we were in Georgia. A dangerous mixture. I was the only one to be in both accidents.

I too fal to see where the OP can find humour in this, except as a 'phew nothing serious (as in loss of life) has occured because of it.

    Glad nobody was hurt.

The only serious accident I've been in is when I was a kid and my Dad was driving his Merc. It was raining and the lights changed, he hit the brakes but the car slid, and all I remember was time suddenly going really slowly, and the sound of the tyres slipping, like a long zipper being pulled slowly.

Anyway we hit a car that had just started coming the other way (it was a weird crossroads, but instead of 90 degrees, the other road came from the front left) so we weren't doing massive speed, and neither was he, but the differential was enough to total the other guys front end, and only knock my Dads left headlight slightly out of position. Didn't even crack.

Mercedes 190E was built like a fucking tank.

Wait, how come the cars didn't blow up? :bay

In seriousness though, I'm glad everyone came out of it okay, and that you can have a positive attitude about it. I hope your mom can get that Kia now.
