long story short, 31 years ago, mom never married my father. my grandparents forbade contact. was made to believe i was a black mark on that side of the family, but now, after 31 years, THEY FOUND ME, and accepted me with open arms. all this time they were looking for me. they wanted me in their lives. now i am. I Have a half brother, 2 years younger than me, and a half sister who's 19. I'm also an uncle to an 18 m/o little guy, and my brother has a girl on the way. I've gotten a father, 8 aunts and uncles, and over 100 cousins all in 1 day. with my mom passing away in May, this comes as a huge pick me up. THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations! Time to go play catch up! -Maybe if you're *really* lucky, you'll finally catch up on all those presents you've missed out on! ;D Seriously though, enjoy your new-found family!

it was just like out of a movie. the phone call from my brother, out of the blue. very surreal. I've chatted with my sister all afternoon. The immediate family is all scattered over saskatchewan, Alberta, NWT, and Nova Scotia. Sister is in Yellowknife, and brother is in regina. My father is in fort McMurry Alberta working for a few weeks, and the rest of the family is in Nova Scotia. needless to say im booking a flight out there ASAP. Sister will fly in to regina, and meet us. Call Oprah. this is going to be right up her ally.
Come to think of it, you would be a great guest on her show. Talk shows like her's tend to get stories like this some time and it's excellent that you're reunited with your family after all these years.
