If your local comic shop still has copies of the last two issues of the current ongoing Transformer series, #22 and #23, grab them - they're a two-part story by the same writer that did LSOTW.

After LSOTW, I personally went and picked up Spotlight volume 1&2 (Shockwave through Ramjet).

Spotlights and 22/23 seconded. If you're still in after that I'd say look into the IDW Collection books.

That one and the Grimlock one kind of go hand in hand, and are my favorites of the Spotlights.

Spotlight Shockwave sucks if you ask me. I've not read many IDW titles, but it has some really stupid dialogue, and the story is pretty weak too. Nice artwork though.

I've only read parts of LSOTW, but I did like it. Any idea where I can track down a cheap copy?

Depends on your tastes. They're not usual Transformer fare. It kicked off IDW's run on Transformers and although its G1, its a new take on it, with the war re-envisioned as a galaxy spanning cold war fought with espionage and intelligence, rather than just straight up giant robot fighting. Most of the early skirmishes are done completely in vehicle mode.

I found both series to be particularly excellent; but you have to be open to what those books were trying to do.
