An amateur here! My last set of customs, the upgraded Dinobots, got me exhausted.

Especially since I had only done a couple of customs prior to them. As a result I've been on bit of a hiatus and hope to return to doing more customs, more frequently.

I've not really ever been a Decepticon fan but TF: Prime has made me very interested in the faction and particularly in their leader, Lord Megatron. The character is extremely well designed both aesthetically and in terms of his background and so he is one of my favourite characters on the show. Dare I say I think he may be the best Megatron since Beast Wars... I do.

So it was a matter of making this

    look like this

    with my limited ability.

I thought I'd have a crack at repainting the TFP mold and am satisfied with how it turned out. I expect I'll repaint the purple with a more metallic paint or at least highlight the edges using the same.

The cannon has been modified slightly by taking out bits from inside it allowing the blade to stick out a bit more. I plan to have it attach by magnet and may even build a more screen-accurate cannon.

Paints were Tamiya acrylics which I mixed to get the colours seen and the blade is a standard Tamiya chrome.

    Anyway, hope you like!

This is really awesome dude. You made him look great. What parts did you take out of the canon and hook the blade to? Anyway keep up the excellent work!

smiller0570, I should've taken pics but all I did was remove a couple of tabs with some pliers and got rid of the grey thing attached to the LED unit. It allowed me to bring the blade right down and out without any friction or it not forming correctly (by that I mean the three prongs which form the blade don't have any gaps between them now).
