Yup, I bought a new iMac. After using PC's for ten years, I hope I did not waste my money. There is a lot to get used to and learn.

I use a mac as well, honestly I don't mind it. I cannot, however, play any games on it so that is a strike against it. My wife uses it for artwork quite often, so thats a plus.

White people like macs, I'm white.

    lol

Long story as to why I got it. The keyboard is total sh*t though and I plan on getting a better one soon. So far, I don't see what is so great about Macs. I have one week that I can still return it. LED screen is great and so is the startup and shut down fastness of it. Usability is still odd. feels clunky but I am trying to give it a fair chance.

I was saving a project in Final Cut Pro. (Pressed Apple, S), so don't start with the "User Error" on me, heheheh :D  I used to push my avid PC to the brink and I never for sever crashes like these. I also get these crashes when I am rendering projects, and this is on both work macs so it's not limited to this one I'm on now.

And this screen was seen 10 times before I rebooted enough to get me to my desktop.

edit: OS is very much up to date. It's an editing and compositing machine. It gets tasked, but sometimes it can't take it.

Here is another...happened while rendering an Oprah promo.

OK, since part of this topic seems to be what people may have against Macs, here's some quotes from different pictures I've found (I don't have the time to dig through my folders and find the pictures themselves at the moment):

    #1
    "I'm a Mac."
    "And I'm a PC."
"Hey PC, what are you doing?"
    "Oh just playing some games."
    "Really? Which ones?"
    "All of them."

    #2
"Hey Mac, played any good games lately?"
    "Shut up, PC."

#3 (My personal favourite, not a conversation but still an image of the two guys labeled)
'If these two came to you looking for a job, which one would you hire? The Truth - It hurts, doesn't it Macf*gs?'

From what I recall, current Macs use the same LCD panel as the Dell UltraSharp U2410, which uses an LG IPS panel, which provides superior image quality, colour depth and viewing angles compared to common LCD TN panels.

If you return this but still want a monitor of the same quality, get Dell's U2410. You will not regret it.

I'm pretty sure many games are not available on Mac, and most likely won't be for quite a long time, if ever.

Indeen, my cousin loves Mass Effect, but he is bummed because he doesn't have a 360 and only has a Mac so he'll be missing out on ME2 (He played the original on my 360 when we were roomates).

Forgive the "newbness",as I own an older mac from before they switched to the intel processor (and don't really have any interest in non-console gaming), but what's to stop one from running windows with a program such as parrallells and playing the game through that (Other than the cost of buying said program and OS)?
