Okay Crankcase was in the IDW Movie comics before DOTM, and Crankcase appears in DOTM. So how did Crankcase star in DOTM if he was killed like 2 years ago?

    So basically how did this:

    Become this:

    Even though he died.

well, in their defense I can say that in DOTM Crankcase was never called Crankcase... D:
and btw, you put "crowbar"'s face, not "crankcase"

Crankcase is the one with the short dreadlocks and the shoulder spikes. Crowbar is the one you have pictured, with the long whip-like tendrils. As for the other Crankcase, it's probably just a case of name's the same.

I've heard that Bay does not recognize the comics as official movie-verse cannon. So, what happens in the comics are irrelevant to the film.

That is definitely Crowbar you've pictured there, and this isn't the first time that we've seen two bots with the same name, but no connection otherwise. I think it's safe to assume that they're different characters, or at least, that's the best solution for this kind of situation, imho. Much like the two movie-verse Jolts.

It's the picture of Crankcase because he doesn't have the long tendrils, and the one with the tendrils (Crowbar) is on the other side of the street in the scene. I know, I've seen the movies enough to know which is which.

    *watches footage a couple times*

Hmm, I guess your right. I must have mistaken them because of the camera angles.

And I just realized Crankcase as a Nose Ring, sorta.

    I REGRET NOTHING!!!

This Crankcase is another Cybertronian with the same name, also the adaptations for DOTM Suggests that the DOTM Crankcase have been hiding on the moon all along.

so they are not the same crankcases

    Just sayin'.

Anyway, I don't really consider the comics proper cannon in conjunction with the films, so that Crankcase never existed in my mind.

    Not the same Crankcase.

Just like there can be multiple humans with the same name, so can their be multiple robots that share names.

not to forget, the adaptations shows that the dreads were on the moon all along (but this scene was cut from the movie, but could still had happened within the movies), so thats not the same crankcase

I don't think that scene was meant to be in the film. I thought it was just one of those ones IDW put in themselves to explain how the Dreads got to Earth. For all we know, they could've been on Earth for years.

its on the Novel according to tfwiki (WHO NEVER PSOT FAKE INFO). meaning the scene was on the Early scripts and not an attmept for IDW to fix up a plot hole
