I bought Animated Soundwave last March, and I have had this problem for the past few months. I can't transform him properly. His chest won't move into place correctly. I had to display him on my shelf in his alt-mode. I'm tired of it. Has else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? I have pics.

You have to force it up. There's two hinges on Soundwave's false cassette door, one that moves it open and closed, and the other that moves it flush on top of the chest or out of the way for vehicle mode. It may feel like you'd break it, but it will go further up his chest where it should be.

Yup. It's double-jointed. Just push it up hard from the bottom, it's tough the first few times.

Yeah mine had the same problem. I was afraid I'd break it, but once you do it once it works fine after that. Or it did in my case.

    This.
I had the same issue when I first got him. After you do it a couple of times, it'll loosen up. (giggetty)

The advice worked! Soundwave has made a full recovery. I wonder why I didn't ask for help months ago.

Nah, I opened mine up to show the chest hinges here a while back when someone had the same problem as the OP and it's easy to put back together afterwards.

Yup, had that issue with mine too when I picked it up last week. A little finesse, or brute force, took care of it.

I remember that thing being a total pain in my ass trying to get it right, but it does get easier with practice as you learn where to push exactly for easeier movement.

Grabbing the entire piece at the top and pulling up is much easier than trying to push against the joint.

Glad it worked! I totally love this figure, and I loved him in TFA.
