dammit, i screwed up on the title-AFA is in need of money.

so they have started to grade things in baggies.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPHA-TRION-BOTCON-2007-EXCLUSIVE-MISP-AFA-85-NM_W0QQitemZ170174691390QQihZ007QQcategoryZ4696QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

also, how the hell does this get an 85 when it hasnt been touched and is in mint condition. what do they base their grading on, the alignment of the moon and stars. but like I said before, they have their heads buried in each other's ass.

I think it's cool they will grade figures in baggies. That means figures like the Omnibots might be gradeable :)

I'm sure the grade is similar to when they grade figures that come in windowless boxes. They base the grade on the only thing that they can. In the case of windowless boxes, they grade the box. In the case of a toy in a baggy, they grade the toy. Not that that really has any significance--it seems like all toy subgrades are 85 or 90. *Shrug*

I wish they'd just open the toygrader store and start selling cases, but I think if they did, they'd lose alot of money. I've gotten a few things graded but I could care less of the grade. I just like the HQ cases to keep certain things I got mint and on display.

They do sell cases. They have for about 8 months now. There's a link on their main page.

Ah AFA, once again proving they are full of crap and their "grades" are worthless.

It amazes me that people pay a 1000% markup for something because it's in a plastic box and has a sticker with a number on it.

cool, thanks for pointing that out. Last time I had stuff graded was this summer, they didn't have that up yet.

edit: still amazing that their store is 'coming soon' and they must be the last place online without online purchasing. I hate having to get money orders...

They had it up during the summer. It was probably just not easy to spot on the front page. It's a little more prominent now.
You can just pen in your credit card number. I've never had to get money orders for their services/cases.

yeah, but I was never crazy about sending off my cc number. I mean, I know that when I hand my cc to a waiter he takes it off n' stuff, but...I dunno...ok, maybe I'll just do that. thanks, MG. :)
