You know, I'd find Arcee trying to be a scientist to be hilarious :)

What if Arcee, while not a scientist, stands for the scientific drive in the same way as Godzilla?

Would be fun if she became a Paradron Medic at the end of her arc.
Performing surgery on bots who have to be sedated just to be brought into the operating room :lol

    Everybody's good at something.

But things could be a bit more specialized.

Nowhere near as lazy, weak, and boring as this nasty habit they have of trying to cram "ninja" into everything, especially when their idea of what a ninja is misses the mark entirely

Nothing can replace the awersomeness that is the Marvel version of Bludgeon. I'm glad IDW went in a different direction with the character.

    Function: Military Operations Commander
"Clarity of thought before rashness of action."
Cold, brutal, scientific approach to war. Seeks to overthrow Megatron as leader of Decepticons because he believes logic says he would be better. As laser gun, can emit lethal beams of energy from anywhere on the electromagnetic spectrum: gamma rays, x-rays, light, infrared rays, radio waves, etc. Flies in laser gun or robot mode. High fuel use, but can be powered by nuclear sources. Often confounded by initiative, emotional thinking."

Yeah, I know; "Scientific APPROACH TO WAR". He's the Decepticon military strategist and commander, not their science guy.

There's no reason why he can't be both though. After all what's more logical then to have both brains and brawn as their greatest weapon? That's something in character for Shockwave to do if you think about it.

Well it’s a simplistic charicature of being the smart one, isn’t it? I think him being a sort of Thrawn type is a lot cooler and more interesting than being a scientist.

Strategy and warfare are science but not exactly the same as physics or engineering.

It's like Prowl is smart and Perceptor is smart but you don't expect them doing the same.
