So with all this Toy Fair hooplah, I find it funny these aren't on display, and little info has come out about them other than pics, and no one has asked Hasbro about them. I mean of course - - Rodimus (animated) - Blackout (animated) - Ironhide (animated) - Toxic Oil Slick (animated) - Voyager Thunder cracker (animated) Seems they just dropped off the radar.
Don't forget about Wingblade Optimus. And they'll probably end up being released as part of the Generations line.
It really wouldn't surprise me if a lot of those Animated toys yet to come end up in the Generations line. It'd make it easier to get the retailers to want to sell them.
I pre-orderred Blackout at BBTS just in case and I expect that we will either get Rodimus and Ironhide as TRU exclusives (since Arcee and Ratchet apparently use the same SKU as the DX Animated), we will get them from Takara, or Wasp will get a head remold and see a Botcon release with Rodimus, Ironhide, Slipstream, and Thundercracker...
Maybe they weren't shown because Toy Fair focused on toys that haven't previously been seen. Toys that are due to be released in the Summer and later. Blackout and Thundercracker have already gone through production, just yet to see widespread distribution. Rodimus and Ironhide may be out sooner than you think.
I've seen someone on this board with Blackout, so I assumed he'd be out soon? I do think the lack of Rodimus kinda sucks though
They better not show up in the Generations line. Yeah, they need to be released, but not as part of the Generations line. Clogging up that line with all those Animated figures takes away sooooooooo many opportunities. Release all of them as Animated, as it should be, coincide with reruns played at decent hours on that new Hasbro-whatever channel. Give the Generations line room to breathe in new stuff, not pre-promised items.
If they're not released here, we have the Japanese releases to fall back. And I didn't know Blackout was up on BBTS. Gonna do that NOW.
Honestly, I gave up any hope of seeing the remaining Animated figures released a while back. I've got sixteen figures from the line, which is enough to comfortably display on one display shelf, so I'm happy with what I've got. The rest could just be dropped and never released and I'd be perfectly fine with it. As for the idea of including them in the Generations line, that would work for the Deluxe's, but not the Voayger's, as they've officially said that Generations is Deluxe only. Personally, I'd be ok with a couple of them getting released under Generations, but I don't think I'd get any of them. I'm much more interested in what other random homages they'll be putting in the line.
Last time i checked it was only the Japanese blackout. So im gonna wait to think about preordering until i see some actual pics of this one not the placeholder and ya odviously blackout is/was in a decent production Transformers 2008 Animated Blackout Rare in Hand - eBay (item 150413723544 end time Feb-15-10 07:05:29 PST)
I just think they weren't shown since everyone had already seen them. I look at the Expanded Universe wave of Star Wars that isn't out until May, and Hasbro didn't even mention them in the PowerPoint presentation. I still think Hasbro is going to get them out, I just don't know how.
