I had a cool dream, that someone started a "Dear teenagers," thread, and this one got closed for being dumb.

I find it strange how you complain about how teenagers suck nowadays, yet you're a teenager and you act like you stand out from the rest, and that you're actually not like them.

Y'know, this thread really makes me think of a couple things.

When I was younger, yes there was quite a bit of under the table violence. People that made their own lives a living hell.

Though, in retrospect. Violence happens. There is no one victorious in any battle, for a battle should never take place in the first place. It only leads to injuries, scars, and in some instances death.

I honestly don't know how people in the 80's/90's had it. But, when the Alt Rock band states "These teenagers scare the living shit out of me" I honestly believe it. Just because of silly/stupid shit. Guy throws rock, Other guy throws knife, Guy kills puppy, Other guy slaughters the first guys entire family in a drive-by.

I dunno. Like, part of me is thinking " I don't think the older crowd understands the situation...", though the other part of me is thinking " I don't think MrGalvs understood the situation..." Either way, it sickens me that in all these years, the education system still fails to educate kids into being decent human beings. Or... educate in general...

Well, I grew up in the 80's and 90's. Shit wasn't any different. We too had jackasses and bullies. We too were young and dumb once. Its a part of life man. I watched a kid off in the distance get his skull stomped in by several other kids when I was in Junior High. Some people who had a better view said they could see a part of his brain as the EMTs carted him off. I've seen kids beaten to a bloody pulp for wearing a Starter jacket to school. I've seen racial fights. I've seen...a lot of stupidity and prepubescent angst. Not every teenager or child grows up in a warm loving home. Peer pressure doesn't help either. The only thing you can really do, if you want to, is to do your part (however small or large) to help the younger generation understand that there's more to life than proving how much of a billy bad-ass you are.

Because in the end.....all that really matters is whether or not you lived as best you can.

    ^

Except nowadays, they say bullying or being bullied isn't part of growing up or even life... It's not the same as before.

Bullying in any form is still bullying. People tend to forget bad things that have happened to them and may not recall the experience just as they would if it happened just yesterday. To say its not the same as before?....I disagree. The feelings experienced by the one being harassed are still the same. Assholes are still assholes. Jackasses are still jackasses. If its anything that I see that may be different, its that teachers are afraid to do anything about it. There's no intervention. When I was growing up, there at least was an attempt.

    Fixed*

Seriously though, I think your post conveys what a lot of us should be thinking about. That's why all joking aside, I really don't buy into this "tough love" crap because everyone's gonna go through bullying shit anyway, so the least we can do is help people stand up for themselves & others when they can instead of letting em just join the stupidity.

U got it wrong, see. Its not so much crap not happening in the past. Its just these days there are lot more ways the stuff filters thru to media consciousness due to all the unfiltered media outlet.

Like that fat kid stomping that skinny bully video: stuff like that wouldnt even get on local news but thx to places like youtube ot gets glorified.

No offence but you act like you're much better than everyone else. You really come across as obnoxious and all your threads on how everyone bullies you makes me think that you have no friends.
