I've been pretty unhappy with my current job, so I figured I'd start looking for something I can actually use my degree with.

And low and behold, come Tuesday, I'ma be a Probation Officer.

Better pay than what I get now, raises every 6 months, big advancement potential, it's in my field of education, and full health and vision insurance that they pay for.

The best part, however, has been sitting through meetings with my current employers who keep trying to talk me out of it.

    Awesome news man. Congrats.

If all goes well, I'll be switching careers in the next year or two.

Though I'll still do all the continuing education necessary to keep my CPA license...

Is it okay if I crash on the couch and help myself to the fridge?

Congrats dude. It did feel good having the current employer practically beg you to stay. Mine did it when I left my last job to go to the much better one I have now.

A friend of mine got a job as a probation officer a while back. I asked her if she was worried about the types of people she'll be dealing with all the time, to which she said "No. Besides, the worst ones are probably the ones who won't even show up".

    Congrats Jux.

Good news that you've got a job that suits your degree as I know you've been wanting to do something along those lines for ages.
You could always see how much your current employer is willing to offer for you to stay and then still take the pleasure in quitting.

Sounds like it' a fantastic job.

Now, you didn't happen to get donuts for the people wanting the free post?

I have one in Sociology too.

F-ing tough to find a job in that field. I was going to go into teaching, but it didn't pan out.

Are you looking to be a cop?
