I actually started this last fall. I always collected binaltechs, but once the line ended (with the asterisk line, IMO) I started getting alternators. and then I was looking back to see if there were any logical repaints, and I couldn't believe that I hadn't thought to do this way earlier.

it was my first time using krylon fusion, and then once I was done painting it, I knew that I wanted some kind of flames, because the plain black was just too boring. I intentionally used a lighter gold, actually testors brass, to tone down the gaudiness of stepper's gold. I had seen one other stepper done, but it used the tracks hood flame, which I just didn't like. superquad7 then suggested using the zoomzoom stickers from delta, with the custom color. so after a bit of questioning (I had never gotten custom stickers made) he convinced me they would look good. comments/criticisms appreciated, as always.

That's sweet, ckhtiger. I like the gold-coloured wheels; is that just painted on with a brush? Did you pull the rims off?
The only thing I'd suggest is painting the Mazda emblem, and adding some black highlights to the head.

yup, sprayed on krylon for the black, did everything else by hand. I forgot to tape up the back wheels when spraying it, which is why the brakes are black :(  one of the things that you can't really tell from the pics are that the mazda logos, both front and back, actually are quite visible, even though they're painted over. I tried to keep the paint scheme as accurate to the original, which is why the legs are the weird colors, and why I just made the head a plain white.

    That's just pretty.

Nicely done. If Hasbro had an Alt. Stepper like that, I might have gotten him.

I like it, are you using the Fusion on the hands as well? How's it taking to the movement?
