OP, this world needs more folks like you. You had a friend in need, and you gave. Karma will come around for this so-called "friend".
Why did you give him your MISB stuff anyway for his kids? Why not just go find a bunch of TFormers at a discount store?
The good Samaritan. Isn't that a common phrase? I've heard it before. It means something about being an extremely nice person. I think it's from a story or something. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about, or am I just rambling?
You're not an idiot. You were just trying to do a good deed by giving some of your TFs to your friend's kids for Christmas. But what your friend did was wrong, selling all those toys on eBay and then buy his kids some cheap discount store toys. I wouldn't bother helping him out ever again.
the worst part is, your friend took you for a fool by telling you he sold them because his kids would take them apart to their pieces. if that was true, he shouldn't have accepted them in the first place. he sold them at ebay, so he clearly knows how much they worth. friend intentionally rips you off, thats one. dad steals presents from his own children, that's two. guy who rips you and his own children off taking you for a fool, that's a little too much shit for me. and i bet he acts/will act like that was nothing important at all, like what he did was perfectly normal... that'll be annoying.
You did the right thing man. Your friend sucks big time and shows how much he loves his kids by the "effort" he put into their gifts The users asking why giving those figures away and not some movie toy. The thing is, not all of us are here to make money off of these things. We buy them because we enjoy them (for the most part the classics/universe/generation toys are some of the best figures out there) and not for what they could be worth down the line.So if you have the opportunity to pass that same enjoyment to kids, well why not? At the end of the day, they're just toys.
Yeah, it means you're a good person. An upstanding member of society who does everything expected of them and more.
Its a poor man on the street and his people do not get along with Samaritans. The poor man simply wants a meal and his own people keep passing him by and then the Samaritan stops and helps the man. I might have the details wrong but thats the basic idea. As for the OP you are a good person for what you did and in no way in idiot. Sadly there are people in the world that will take advantage of the kindness you show. Hell when ever my girlfreind has her freinds over if they mention that they do not have much food till payday she opens up the pantry gives some to them. Keep being kind there are people that appreciate even though some do not.
Forgive him and move on. If he ever apologizes for the fiasco, then there is still hope for people like him. Yeah, like what some boarders said here, if there were more people like you, the world wouldn't be in a mess right now.
As most people have posted already, you are most definitely not an idiot, your "friend" however, is another story
Oh that is some f#ck'd up shit right there! I wouldn't exactly refer to that asshole as a "friend" anymore - it's time to cut him loose...
