You really need to be more optimistic.

 

Who would actually come back to revive Shockwave even if he was clinging onto life? How do we know that the Autobots didn't go around finishing off 'Con survivors? No more allspark, no more leaders...just drones and probably some surviving off-screen characters. Unless some wholly new, wholly untouched 'Con threat comes out of nowhere, Shockwave is good as dead.

 

This is like the whole "RAAM is still alive" rumor from Gears Of War. When you get fucked up that bad, you ain't gettin' up.

 

We've said it before, when movie Prime kills you, you're VERY VERY dead.

I think for the moment, Shockwave is considered dead. However, they could easily revive him somehow for the next movie (Optimus and Megatron BOTH came back from the dead after all). Maybe they could say Shockwave has some strange power that allows him to rebuild himself after being dismantled, as long as his body isn't entirely destroyed; kind of like Waspinator, but more horrifying and mysterious.

Plus with this now being the 6th most profitable movie ever i'm sure it makes sense to keep it going sometime in the future.

Man I would have loved it if the Driller was actually still functioning and pulled Shockwave away at the last moment, retreating back underground. That would have been cool.

He didn't get the screen time and character development he deserved and I felt he was really wasted   should have just replaced him with a different not-as-popular character instead and save him as the real villian in the next films.
