Yeah, I'd go to a credit union too if I was a BofA customer. Seems like credit unions give you better deals on everything anyway. Mortgage rates, auto loans, etc
Been with my particular federal credit union since 1997 and there is nothing on the face of this earth that could make me change.
Switched to a credit union a year ago. I'm pretty happy with mine, which actually gives me a 1% dividend + refunds any ATM fees if I use my card for a debit transaction at least 12 times a month. That deal looks even better now. Why do people bank at BoA? They have so many horror stories and fees hiding everywhere, even before this card fee.
Banks own countries, and own us. Banks finance wars, and kill for power. google 'zeitgeist' if you haven't seen it already. There's a good section on banks and what they really are. Here: The Zeitgeist Film Series Gateway | Zeitgeist: The Movie, Zeitgeist: Addendum, Zeitgeist Moving Forward and downloads can be found on BTjunkies, or just about anywhere. If you use a bank you should see this. Which is to say we all should see this because the banks have made it so that we are all forced to use banks.
if you don't keep a certain amount in your checking account they charge a fee. $500 is no fee anything lower is a fee from 1.95 to 5.95 depending on your balance
Meh, that's all just to distract us from the fact that the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people (under the supervision of the reverse vampires), is attempting to eliminate the meal of dinner.
Credit unions are the way to go. I even get a ballot each year for the election of officers within my CU. Used my previous CU for over 10 years. They were attached to a factory in town. When it tanked (the factory), they closed the local branch. So, the manger went to another CU, and my entire family followed. I love my CU. There is NOTHING that could make me go back to a bank. They're nothing but a bunch of thieving bastards. The last bank that I used would nibble money from my account, literally. They didn't even try to explain it. I would lose from $5 to $20 a month. They'd actually tell me that they didn't know where it went, but they were sure sorry. Credit union ever since. I can walk into our CU, and every regular employee there knows me by name. It's fantastic!
If your paying a fee to use a credit card, debit card or any other card, you are a fool and handing money away uselessly. Same follows suit for bank accounts at any financial institution. If people wouldn't be so damned stupid and move all their money the first time they got charged a damned dime they wouldn't be able to do it. U never ever ever pay to use your own damned money ever.
i have money network through my work dollar general, free bank account and i've got no fees it seems, i love it
Do you also believe that the Federal Reserve is any more a part of the federal government than Federal Express?
Dude, five years on this site and your sig is still dumb to me. I don't really care about fees. My credit union (USAA) rocks, sufficiently so that even when one product isn't as cheap as another bank / union / whatever, I stick with mine because the total package is awesome. There are options out there, if folks continue to stick with a company like BoA because they don't educate themselves, fuck 'em. ska-bam
I use M&F Bank, which is based about an hour and a half from where I live. It's a small MS bank. No fees at all.
USAA is excellent and so is INGDirect, particularly if you don't have a good local credit union. Of course, everything is done online, but how many people actually go into their bank and use a teller these days? (Another ex-Bank of America customer who closed his account last year when I read of their mortgage foreclosure shenanigans.)
