Not any dumber than the rest of G1, at least. ;)

Certainly less dumb than Rebirth. I love the Japanese G1 sequels :D

I wonder did you watch the StarTV english dub? Then you would be right. That dub job DID induce vomiting (at least in me). However watch the TV Nihon Subtitle job and you would be happier.

Dude, the Japanese series - Headmasters, Masterforce, etc. - are SO MUCH more enjoyable as a follow-up to the movie and post-season 3. They are much more entertaining, fill in (or at least introduce) all of the characters featured as toys through like 1987-88 and there is - at least, in my opinion - a bit more anime-ish brevity in some of the episodes. SPOILER: TEXT IN BLACK - HIGHLIGHT TO READ: I remember being surprised that they actually showed Soundwave AND Blaster dying - that was surprising for a kids anime series. (hope I'm not spoiling this too horribly

Definitely, definitely check out the fandubs of the Japanese Transformers series if you want a proper ending to "Season 4."

not worth getting riled up over.

It sucks with about 2 minutes of composite coolness.

They're in there. I forget exactly when and how they worked, but I remember at least the 3 new autobot TMs were in there. The guns became attached to the hands instead of handheld.

Rebirth is what Sunbow and Hasbro put into it -- a somewhat confusing product that introduced elements that you couldn't tell in a 90-minute story.

Headmasters had, what, a 36 episode run? Say what you will about the merits of the story, but it had a far more appealing flow. Plus, in terms of style, it is probably a more logical follow-on season to Season 3. And, those aesthetic qualities aside, Headmasters is worth it to see the Soundwave-Blaster death match. The U.S. series never really had a meaningful Blaster-Soundwave fight like the Headmasters showdown -- you look at AutoBop, and it's a fun episode, but in Headmasters those two played for keeps.

Zarak captured Cyclonus and company and when told to give up their heads to create Decepticon headmasters, Cyclonus sais they could have the "animals" and the rest would give up their weapons for them to use.

While fighting the Autobots Brainstorm grabbed ahold of Nightstick and Arcana scanned him, thus the Autobot headmasters were born.

Or in other words, "Blah blah blah Blah Blah blah fart blah blah blah."

I meant I hadn't heard about them being in Headmasters or Masterforce.

Yeah that's what I referring to. They appear in episodes 27 and 28 of Headmasters, The Miracle Warriors parts 1 and 2. The targetmasters (the guns) seems pretty similar to minicons- they speak all in bleeps and such.
