Shocking, isn't it? My mouth fell open when I saw it. Here's a pic of the dude:
I'm shocked. It's so hilarious/stupid/idiotic/funny
that I have nothing to say besides saying I have nothing to say.
I have to agree with this...
Must've been a slow news day, or maybe someone related to little Justin works at the paper.
Still, must be pretty lame for a kid to win a huge pokemon card tournament and then they're like "Your prize is something you cant use for like 8 years. AND FOR SCHOOL!"
Kid would have probably preferred a box of boosters or something.
Also, what's wrong with pikachu's arm? Did he lose all the bones in it due to some attack in his years of battling?
to much to read that kid looks like he smoked some and all that cash man.
I just realized.
Spyro, you're back!
Wait, what happened to him again? [/brainfart]
Also, since Pikachu's arm seems to be broken, does that make him Gimpikachu?
I don't know, I just remember him leaving.
Anyway, the article.
I don't get all the 'fail' comments. I think this is pretty darn cool. Wish all the Pokemon TCG games I took part in had prizes worth as much.
I think it's a good thing too. It makes something they do for fun into a good competition, plus with a reward that benefits them in the long-term. I would've loved to take part in something like that where a scholarship was one of the rewards. Too bad the mom has probably already spent the amount of the scholarship on Pokémon cards already
Pokemon card games cause delinquency and Teen pregnancy.
You know I'm joking.
Im suprised Pokemon is still the card king after all these years, they're doing something rite
id much rather read that reports of wars, murders and other bad stuff that happens far too often
Thread won. I dont think he'd need the scholarship if his parents could afford his many boosters. hmm...maybe i should get back into card playing. Lucky kid though ?:/
slow news day in south west atlanta I guess.
Yeah. Pokemon is awesome! Not only does he get bragging rights, he get money for school!
what? a girl won? not a fat dude with a BO problem and a neckbeard? for shame!
and everyone should be ready for the pokemon resurgence when it hits the big 20 soonish? i think? i cant remember its been so long.
there are plenty of other news sources that report on that since most of that makes national news, this is a local area and it's cool that the kid goes to the finals of the only official tournament in the world this year
Good for him!
I never once understood how to play Pokemon with cards even though I had like 700 as a kid.
That's why I was always more of a Yu-Gi-Oh man. Easy to play.
