I like mine too. My only complaint is that he doesn't have knee joints. I think knees would've made him so much more poseable, but once you get him in a good stance he's pretty cool looking.

And I actually wish every figure was a Deluxe, so I don't mind the size.

 

Wait, what? He does have knee joints. His legs both bend at the knee and swivel just above it (mid-thigh).

 

He is ok I wouldn't say I 'like' him, but I wouldn't say he is a bad figure. He is good enough for me at the moment, but the moment a better one comes along, he will be gone.

 

While he's far from perfect I still like the figure.

I like tanks so it's hard to complain about getting more tank Transformers. I like how characters are able to get their alt modes updated or getting Earth modes at last. I also like that he's got enough classic elements to know exactly who he is in robot mode.

With Scourge and Cyclonus being deluxe sized figures I'm not even minding him being only a deluxe figure anymore. Seems like the new standard for Hasbro is that leaders don't have to be a size class bigger than the other characters now.

 

Like others have said, if he had been a Voyager class, I'd have loved him.

Of course, I'd like him better if he was Marvel Comic colored (which is pretty close to the G1 toy)

 

Honestly i wouldnt have had a poblem if he was a voyager

Sorry, OP. In my opinion, he's crap.

And I honestly was excited for this figure until I actually got one a couple years ago.

 

Quality control is what ruins him.
some are actually tight and transform well (at least mine anyway)
and others just fall apart.

I dont hate any transformers. I hate poor quality control.
i can fix most problems i have easily with superglue.

yea, galvatrons facial expression makes me laugh, its like he is unhappy because his kibble can be a pain in the ass.

I personally think that Universe Galvatron is underrated and that people tend to exaggerate its flaws. I for one like the toy. Admittedly, it probably should've been a Voyager class toy. But the robot mode looks great and the tank mold looks great. The transformation scheme is certainly fiddly but its not all that horrible. I just think people were expecting a higher standard from Galvatron specifically and a Classics styled toy in general.

 

If you're crazy, then I'm insane beyond comprehension, because I like Universe Galvatron, Deluxe Universe Prime, and Titanium Soundwave, which are all almost universally hated figures. But I do agree with PORTER, the quality control is what can ruin a figure. I got my Universe Galvatron for free when I bought my G1 Galvatron, and I loved the look of him, but he literally fell apart into pieces in my hands. Once I got him back together though, I loved him, since the only really bad thing about him was the quality control, which I can't do anything about.

 

Well I'm not very smart, so it's possible that I missed them, but I could've swore he only has a swivel joint right around the knee (that you can twist, but not bend).

He's my least favourite of the Universe toys, although he's by no means a toy I regret buying. He does look nice though, and looks good on display with my other Galvatrons.

 

Well, you've missed them somehow then, because he most certainly has them. the only real articulation he's missing is outwards movement in his right shoulder. He's got a bit just above the elbow, but it's very limited, and doesn't include the cannon, so firing poses are still stiff.

I love my Galvatron. I lucked out and got one that wasn't a floppy mess, so I can safely ignore the usual criticisms. Lack of shoulder articulation aside, that right arm is an absolutely genius bit of engineering, and I really like how everything comes together in general, it terms of his sculpt and proportions. He strikes up a rather intimidating figure.

Yeah, he probably would have been better as a Voyager, but I'm usually impressed when the designers get ambitious within the smaller size classes.

Given the context of the thread, why no pure "thumbs up" vote? Everything there is either negative, or positive with reservations.

 

I chose three options...

-Its ok, wish it was better
-Wish it was a Voyager
-I'm content with it until a better one is released.

Basically what would summarize anything else I'd post.

oh well mistakes also adds experience like sucess so until i discover a way to go back and add another choice i guess all those classics galvatron lovers are gonna be content with this galvatron mold and when another one is made in a few years they will give that one a shot.

I like the toy. Would not have bought it if I did not. Having said that my only gripe is the fact that his arm and leg come off rather easily. Perhaps if he also came with some sort of gun like his 86 toy counterpart. Help give options when it comes to poseability.

 

why isn't there an option in the poll to like the figure? the best is 'he's ok'. I think he's pretty cool for a deluxe. far from the worst i've owned.
