Well my wife just informed me that she's pregnant yesterday. She really want to have a baby and although I am not big on kids I would like to have one or two one day so... why not now? Right now she's in another country working but will be moving here before or during summer so we can be together for the big day. Personally I am pretty scared about all the unknowns. Will my wife be ok? Will the baby be ok? Will I be a good dad? Will I be able to share my toys with him (if it's a she I'll buy her barbie and all that)? Will I be able to support a family? Will he/she grow up a good kid? Argh this is too much I need some time to let the truth sink in. Any parents out there willing to give me some good tips on parenting?

Dude, I remember when my wife told me she was pregnant. We had talked about having kids and I was sure that I didn't want them. I don't think I was ever as scared as I was that day. Hell, I was scared the whole nine months!
But man was I wrong. I don't think I ever knew how deeply you could love untill my little girl was born. It turned out by far to be the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know its scary as hell but I promise you the moment you hold your child it will all change.
    Best of luck and congrats.

Congrats!!! dude, everything will be fine. best advice for being a father, be yourself, HAVE FUN!!! i was scared too, but so far, over the past 2 years i have had more fun then you could imagine. it's alot of fun to watch them grow up. see them experiance everything for the first time. it gives u a whole new outlook on life. and in terms of the toys? they are just toys, don't let them come between u and your child. nothing is as important as that child. maybe set your favorites aside, or some of the older more fragile toys, but don't worry about them.

what's the due date, my 2nd is due june 8th

Congrats. The main advice I can give you is spend time with your kid. Be there for him/her.

Not sure at this point. Maybe October since she's just got pregnant about 2 weeks ago. And thanks to everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I hope I'll be able to make enough money to provide for my child. One of the biggest worry I have is how much the baby will cost me.

    First of all, congrats.

Second, take a very deep breath and attempt to relax a little. Otherwise the thought of it all will make you snap. Just keep a cool head, sort out your priorities and don't be afraid to ask for help if needed.

Congratulations. Don't let your worries about the details outweigh the joy of new possibilities. And do much processing with your wife. Try to talk through all the bigger issues and find some agreement about duties, discipline, etc. beforehand.

Haha... yeah I am pretty sure... she left LA almost 2 weeks ago and about a week later she missed her period and got the positive pregnancy test right after.

Now I am planning to cut down my toy buying. Maybe just $200 a month or less. There are many toy lines I will be skipping to save money for the baby. I am sure I'll be the happiest person alive once my kid is born I just hope I can keep it together til then. :)

Congrats. All the worries you're having are very natural. Don't worry, it'll be tough, and a big learning experience for you and your wife both, but if you love each other, as I'm sure you do, you'll get through it all and everything will turn out fine. Good luck with everything, I wish you guys the best!
