if dotm ends up making 1.5 bil. to 2 bil. i dont see how bay, shia, etc. cant say no to a fourth installment or more. the studio would throw so much money at them to get them to come back and they couldnt turn it down IMO.

If I were a director, and I was tired of making a movie series, I wouldn't continue with it after it's "final" movie, despite how much money it makes. So I don't think Bay will come back to transformers. There was an article where it was mentioned Steven Spielberg may take over for more movies though.

For me, the franchise couldn't continue without Shia.
In that recent interview didn't Tyrsr say if they did go ahead with #4 he'd be there?

But for #4, I really would like to see a prequel. The Fallen and a lot of others could be flushed out a hell of a lot more.

I agree, the Movie-verse is always so deeply connected to some dark secret from the past, would be pretty interesting to see that "past" on-screen.

And being a prequel, this might cause Michael Bay to grab the helm again.

It's like the X-Men film series: All the three films had connection to the past, so they did Prequels. and it worked out pretty well.

It'd be nice, but I don't see it happen. In 4 or 5 five years it's safe to say we will at least get something.

Money is not a main factor for actors or directors, at least those that do it with a passion.
A 4th movie without Shia is my kind of TF4.

If a 4th movie happened, I would like to see it set 20 years into the future, that way they could not use Shia as Spike, use someone older like they did with the original movie

Or just have his character dead, with Carly and her son Danny being the main humans.

Not everyone is motivated by money. I really think Shia's done. He seems so over it, imo.

Why? Because we don't agree with you? Some people's artistic credibility means more than turning a profit and others want to pursue different projects. Some people can't be bought, see Dave Chappelle. Money is everything to greedy people and those who don't have it.

Money is money for everyone including those already rich. If they decided to not do something there are other undisclosed issues that didn't allow an agreement and it usually means that they wanted even higher profits.
It's the way everything works. If you believe in fairy tales you are free to but that is not the real world.

When one is as rich as Bay is, one has the opportunity of choice. Money is not the only factor in decision making, and never has been, especially for those who have enough to not have to worry about optimum efficiency.

I'm not sure how they could really do a prequel.

I guess my reasoning is that weren't all the autobots "protoforms" prior to arriving on earth? I mean, they obviously wouldn't have any earth modes on Cybertron.

That said, they could do something going back to Cybertron and what let up to Sentinel leaving, but it would be really hard to have any humans in the movie since nothing really happened until OP arrived. Again, I guess we never really saw or learned much about how/when Bee arrived, but he really didn't do much until Sam "bought" him.

I guess with some creativity they could pull off about anything.
