Anyone else grabbing this today? I wouldn't mind some co-op, but I don't know of anyone else that planned on getting it.

Curious about it, but I have Zelda and imFamous on my short list. Gonna keep an eye on your discussion and maybe trade some games in for it. Looks pretty slick

I will wait for the reviews, but I am definitely interested in this. Post your first impressions of it once you've played it a bit!

That's exactly how I feel about it, too.
I'll get it on Xbox if I get it.

How dare you actually play the game instead of posting impressions.
    :)
Seriously, I wanted to message you 'How is it?' but decided to be patient.

I'm going to hold off until I have a better handle on the game mechanics. I played a bit of melee while Beastbox played ranged in the hour we co-op'd. I wasn't doing well in melee combat because I kept mashing the attack button instead of blocking effectively and getting killed rather quickly. I might play a bit solo to get the hang of it tomorrow.

Well, got through almost the entire first chapter tonight, some of it co-op with Sidewayz, and some of it with AI co-op. I think I really dig the game, but I also think it's going to take me a bit of time to get comfortable with it so I can stop sucking! lol

I mostly used E'lara tonight and her range attacks are quite effective, but damn, her melee attacks seem kinda week. Also, not really sure how to block during melee and the enemies take off like a 1/4 of her health with every hit. Switching weapons is very smooth and the overall game play seems solid.

It's been good fun and I could definitely see people digging this game provided they gave it a chance. I don't really have any beef with it thus far, and I will say it seemed a fair bit challenging, even on Normal difficulty. I'm looking forward to playing a lot more of it.

So for any of you guys on the fence about it, I hope this helps you decide.

It should be mentioned that both characters have Magic, Ranged, and Melee attacks. The difference seemed to be that my melee attacks were stronger and faster while Beastbox had more arrows and could shoot faster than I could with my crossbow.

I'm still curious as to how the "enhancement" magic works, where one character should be able to buff the other with spells, possibly giving magic dual roles.

Finished the first chapter this morning. All in all, pretty fun stuff. I like the fact that you can't take any enemy lightly, without it seeming too ball busting to take them down. I do wish that the checkpoints were a little more frequent, but I find the game play quite fun. Even though the dungeons are fairly linear, there also seem to be enough secret areas/puzzles that I often feel I'm missing something. That's good.

I'm also finding the single player AI to be pretty damn good. That I find refreshing and I must admit I was a bit worried about that aspect. So far it's still better to play with a human in co-op, but AI single player is still pretty good. Not noticing any glitchiness either.

Does this game seem like top tier/big budget material? Not at all.
No one would ever think as much.

Is it still fairly awesome and worth playing? YUP. :D

    lol

Well, let it be known I haven't gotten to the later chapters yet. :D

EDIT: Also, I say that because in battle it seems that instead of your AI partner getting in the way and constantly dying on you, they actually seem to do their fair share of taking out enemies. If I had a dollar for every co-op game where it seemed that when I was in single player I did all the work.

Now this is a bit long-winded quote I found on a Gamespot forum, but it's a great summation of what this game is like. Better than I could articulate, I guess:
