I read the books recently. It is a very good series. Hopefully the movies can do it justice. Looks like the cast is shaping up pretty well so far at any rate.

Suzanne Collins is one of the executive producers so that has me excited and hopefully it stays true. I am hearing it will be split over 4 movies!

I read the trilogy in about a month. Love the casting of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. Hopefully the movies will be as good as the books.

Like I said the plot sounds fucking stupid. So that's never going to happen.

Never judge a book by it's cover... or in this case, a simplified plot description. It's actually a really good story.

I do all the time. If a brief description turns me right off, it's means I'm not going enjoy it. I've yet to be wrong on my first impression for media projects.

Ugh. I know I stir the pot with this but I found it just another run-of-the-mill mystical teenager story, surprisingly from the author of Gregor the Overlander, a very good story from when I was in elementary school. I read the first one about half way until I got agitated in how this was 1984 meets The Goblet of Fire for someone who would just be itching for bloodshed in their kid's books. Definitely uninspired to me. This is just an opinion so it doesn't really mean anything. :/

I enjoyed the books. Looking forward to seeing how they handle the films.

I really enjoyed the first book, but I haven't got around to reading the other two. Here's hoping the film will be decent.

I really enjoyed the series, up until the last couple chapters of book 3. I'm still interested to see the movies though.

I finished reading the books lately. It's going to be difficult to make these movies everything I want them to be and still maintain a PG-13 rating. If the viewer can't experience Katniss' events from her perspective, it might be hard to capture the full horror of it. Also...Lenny Kravitz as Cinna? While I can kind of see it, he wouldn't be my first choice.
