It'll probably get rebranded in the Movie Trilogy packaging, but yeah, I'm sure it will come along eventually.

That said as in all things, if you know you really want it, I do suggest importing a Japanese one so then at least you've got one and aren't disappointed if it ends up being hard to find. That was my approach on the Deluxes, Wheeljack, Soundwave and Leadfoot.

I refuse to pay twice or more what a figure is worth just because it comes from Japan! As much as I love some of the figures over there, it isn't fair or worth it to me... I do hope you are right though and it comes along sooner or later...

The Hasbro version already has DOTM (not trilogy) packaging and is out in some asian countries. I ordered mine off eBay a while ago and it wasn't the takara one.

I just ordered one off EvilBay. I don't want to risk not getting one. Especially after the HA Mudflap fiasco.

I found five Mudflaps in a little Walmart in Canada on holiday :confused2

Dont worry I didn't buy them all though, only one. But to the op, be thankful you have a chance of getting Soundwave in USA. Down under we never got past HA Skids for ROTF and Flash Freeze Assault for DOTM.

    Ebay:
You're in the UK Sol, what's the price difference between importing the Takara vs waiting for a US version?

EDIT: Holy smoley!!! The BBTS preorder has shot up to $130. Shouldn't have canceled the $80 one I had last week. Stupid, stupid. . .

FYI, your first statement conflicts. You refuse to pay twice or more then what a figure retails in the US. Retail is not the same as worth. In this case, you are right though, as the Takara/Japanese version is the same as the Hasbro version.

Takara version just has stickers on it. Might be the same version Hasbro is sending out to the rest of the world. If we don't get it in the US it's because the US stores don't want it.

That doesn't sound right. To my knowledge HA Mudflap never made it to Target, only TJMaxx and Marshalls.

    $130 is pretty disgusting.

The Takara and Hasbro versions are identical apart from a few stickers on the box, and there are plenty on eBay for $70 shipped

I think I'll just have to get one off of Robotkingdom. Whenever they're back in stock.

Atleast this will be better than that crappy deluxe.

Hmmm. I'm planning on getting a second one to paint differently than my first one. I was planning on waiting for info at toyfair (and hopefully getting my second one at a reasonable price)- but if BBTS is at $130 now, I'm wondering if I may need to do the ebay thing and just pay extra?

I'll wait a bit. But this definitely makes me nervous.

I had a chance to buy one at BotCon last year. Like you, I regret not taking that offer. I didn't know Mudflap was rare, just that it happened to not be in the store whenever I visited. How is the toy by the way? Is it the best version of Mudflap?

I believe it is. It's pretty perfect actually for Mudflap. I had lucked into like 4 of them last year for $5 each. Three went off to board members, but I'm glad I have him in my collection. If you can buy him for retail or less total with shipping I'd say grab him.
