So I just got Human Alliance Sideswipe tonight, and after transforming him, i notice that his face is a bit off, so I tug on his goatee, and low and behold, he too has a battlemask. I double checked the instruction sheet and bubkis on this.I don't really look at pictoral reviews, so i didn't know this was an option...and poor one at that. I Best part with bumlbee is that it fit, but side swipe..it just hinges up showing more face and panels that look great, but now he's got a metallic cobra sprouting forth from his noggin.

So you think the Battlemasks will be a trend moving forward? (Sans Skids and mudflap)

I think all the Human Alliance figures will have some type of head gimmick.

Fortunately with Skids he doesn't have this. Instead they put in a kind of little puppet gimmick in where you push on the top of his head and his mouth moves. I'm going to assume the same will go for Mudflap.

I donno what they have planed for Barricade, but hopefully it's not as lame as Sideswipe's slot flap face.

I think it's obviously more of a trend with Bayformers overall - the HA figures just happen to accomodate the feature in toy form. Seems that every concept drawing or CGI render shows virtually every character with regular faces and battle mode masks, even if we didn't actually see them utilized in the movies.

I would like to see allot more figures come out with these, HA or not, its a gimmick that we all know we would give into somewhat. Personally, being able to even morph your figures heads makes it every bit sweeter to me. So i give Battle Masks or even things like what they do with the MP figures (optimus's face mask, Starscreams face change, etc) an A+ and hope to see it more.

I got him as well and saw peaugh's (sp?) review of him and wasn't very pleased with the results.

I wish they'd found something more graceful to do with it when it's up. The face it self looks pretty cool, but the awkward horn/snake is such an eye sore, it completely ruins it.
