I know this isn't a transfomer, but its my latest custom. I've had a hard time finding the Hulkbuster Iron Man in the stores, but a friend of mine picked one up for me. I wanted to just repaint him so he matched the colors on the box, but instead I went for a War Machine look. I wish I could have added some weapons, but I didn't have any. I'll do that sometime in the future. I have to say that is figure is a pain in the ass to spraypaint, no matter how hard I tried, I could not cover all the red, oh well. I'm pleased with how it turned out. Enjoy.
Oh its there, in the joint areas, just can't see it in the pics. Thanks though. By the way, your sig is awesome, but also brings back bad memories of Diff Eq in college.
Very nice repaint. I have a spare Modern Iron man that I want to turn into Modern War Machine but it seems like such a pain. I might end up dying it instead of painting.
You know what that paintjob sort of reminds me of...? (If you're an Iron Man fan, you'll understand instantly) Remember in Busiek's volume 3 run of Iron Man, when some baddies find the old War Machine armor and bulk it up to a ridiculous degree...? Your repaint reminds me of that. Really nice job, by the way.
Love the repaint! I wanted to do the same thing with mind but I just didn't know how to open him up to get all the corners covered. Your pic shows that I don't need to pick him apart just to give him a good paint job! Love it!
The only thing I took off were the legs, and good luck getting them back on, you might want to grease the end so that it will pop back on easier and use a twisting motion. Also, take you time with the paint. I used Tamiya Metallic Black and went through one can really quick. Paint some, let it dry move the joints around, paint again, let it dry, etc... etc... repeat that until it is covered. A pain I know. I also clear coated him in gloss to protect the paint job, its worked so far. Thanks for the compliments. Probably the best compliment was one I got last week, I took it to my local comic shop and someone came in and asked if it was in the new line of marvel legends.
It's a wonderful custom, but the thing that's bugging me about it is that I haven't been able to find a REGULAR Hulkbuster figure anywhere, and you've found enough to repaint one. Grrrr....
Looking greta man! Would love to do the same, except I could only find one Hulkbuster. It's a great mold to boot and I love it when they take up most of the room in the package. That's one toy you get your moneys worth for
Yeah, I always see all the other riders, but not Iron Man. A friend of mine was lucky enough to find it for me. Since I opened, I thought I might as well do something with it. I originally wanted him to look more like the one on the back of the package. Thanks for the compliments.
I know this thread is old, but I'm resurrecting it to say that I'm selling my Hulk Buster War Machine. This is my first custom that I have decided to sell, and if it goes well I might sell some other stuff. For those interested, here is the listing. Hulk Buster War Machine
