These guys were not supposed to ship until mid to late jan, but imagine my surprise when the fedex guy came to the door, when I opened the box I saw this! I am doubly surprised because it seems they shipped it over night, and I only paid standard shipping, oh well maybe they wanted to give people a bit of a Christmas bonus.

So that means the other AFA items are probably shipping also...maybe. This will also put to rest the rumors that the items were never in stock.

I also know how most fans feel about AFA, I feel pretty much the same, but oh well. When a regular non graded gold PDD would have cost me the same, I can't really complain.

I don't get AFAing new stuff (and barely for old stuff). The cost and concern over condition of something brand new doesn't do it for me. It will take a loong time before the grading will make it worth anything more than the costs and otherwise why not just stick it in a display box oneself.

Congrats *Deathblade... I'd love to have one of those for my collection (a gold helmeted Destro that is), but I just can't support AFA or anything graded on principle alone. But, hey, I totally see your reasoning sense one on eBay would cost you about the same to be honest.

Ummm... I thought everyone was upset about them selling these? I guess if you buy them we will all think it's cool? Sorry, I just don't advocate it. Glad your happy I guess.

Funny, I don't see anyone advocating this. Just a congrats to *Deathblade on his purchase.

And, as I stated, while I don't agree with this stuff on principle I can understand his reasons that he'd pay about the same or more from some twat on eBay... and at least he knows for sure the condition of this one's package. Still, I could never buy one of these on principle alone myself.

I totally agree on most things, but as it is, HTS will feel vindicated for selling these, so even to the buyer, I don't really advocate it.

Can't say I blame you for the price, I wouldn't do it myself, as much as I'd like to.

I like to display my MOSC 25th 'Joes on the wall, and it wouldn't fit in my collection with the case.

I made my decision to get one off ebay and bite the bullet, after I found out Hasbro was doing this, as it was the only one I needed to currently complete the line, and while I don't like supporting the scalpers on eBay, the thought supporting a company hand picking toys to grade and make a huge profit just really turned me sour to HTS's AFA stuff.

    Still, I'll admit, nice score.

Congrats on a very cool figure indeed, but commiserations on paying through the nose for it due to HJTS's massively assholish "let's AFA our own brand new products" bullshit.

    It cost 150.

I have said before I dont particularly care for AFA, this is one of those cases where I bit the bullet because EBAY would have been the same price or more for a non graded one...with something like say, Alternators rodimus, I would not have bit because alt rodimus can still be gotten for 50 bucks, and besides I already have one. Gold PDD started at an ebay price of 50 bucks and went up from there.

I understand the principles thing, I felt kinda dirty buying it, but to me it was a case of did I want it or not ...I didn't mull on it and pulled the trigger, which was good because it sold out about 2 minutes later.

At the end of the day its a rare piece that I got thats already protected, and pretty much guaranteed to sell for more if I needed to sell it.

That said, I would NEVER send my own stuff to be graded.
