Not really big news, but, Howard stern is doing live commercials for the 20th Anniversary DVD. It's absolutely hilarious. He has no idea what product he is actually promoting. Way to go Sony, spending the big bucks to get the message out.

I heard it yesterday....and it's a pretty decent spot (aka paid advertisement) for the movie. Don't go thinking he's a fan though....fa fa flooey.

While it is nice that the dvd is being advertised, Sirius must really need the money if they are doing an ad for the dvd, especially as a live read.

    He starts reading the copy.
Then he has to ask Robin what the hell Transformers is.
    She has no idea either.
Ba Ba Booey to the resuce to explain it to them.

Never really thought of Howard and Robin as out of touch old farts 'till I heard this.

It's funny when he reads out loud the voice actors...

He's shocked to see Casey Kasem; an old-school top 40 DJ he's never liked...

But overall it is a poor ad, but it gets played at least twice during each broadcast.

For those who think he's out of touch; don't forget he's in his early 50's, no wonder he wouldn't recognize the name of the toy.

Everyone knows what a transformer is. You don't go though over 20 years of transformers and never even know what they are. Either he's really out of otuch, or he's doing the stupid lieing crap where he's too cool to know. I hate that old wash up.

I have to disagree; if I wasn't into Transformers, I'm certain my parents (my Mom is roughy the same age as Stern) would never have known what the hell Transformers are.

It may be hard for you to believe, but nobody cares for Transformers except for us and kids (and their parents who only know the stuff 'cause their kids want 'em); that'll probably change somewhat if the movie becomes successful.

To also add to the point, Stern has three daughters, who are all grown up now and I highly doubt they were into Transformers (more likey, Cabage Patch Kids and My Little Pony)...

I'm not saying this as a fan, I'm saying this as a person. Transformers is just way to big and all over the place for 20 plus years. I don't care how old you are. You would actually have to avoid commercials and such to not know at the very least what transformers is. I'm not saying he should know any characters, but at least know the term.

Howard Stern should be fired... out of a cannon into the sun.

But that is weird that he would be reading a commercial for the TFTM 20th dvd...

Way to spend the money on a "celebrity"

I don't know. He was 30 years old when the toys and show debuted in the U.S. I think it's conceivable that he remains unaware.

But, yeah, very odd choice of advertising....

I haven't listened to Howard since he went the way of the satellite...kinda miss him. Bob and Tom have filled in nicely, though.

Does everyone forget the demographic of who listens to him?
