This is something I thought about a couple days back, but I'd like to know what you think. Just so we are clear I don't mean where the Joes are the Transformers, but the Transformers are the vehicles of the GI Joe universe.

I think the idea is awesome and I can not wait for Corbot V to bring this idea to life.

Yes it was announced at Cherry Bomb that at least the Prime/HISS Tank will be made and will go by the name Serpent Leader

I'd say, quite a few people, on this board at least, would support it in theory.

Second-hand rumor indicated the G.I.Joe staff at Hasbro are more enthusiastic about the idea than the Transformers staff.

There's at least one proto out there that was apparently developed by Takara and sent to Hasbro for their consideration.. quite some years ago.

IIRC, the source it came from did have a bunch of other Transformers oddities listed on eBay which were very definitely real, so i'd be inclined to say this was the real thing too.

They'd have to scale down the GIJoe figures big time. A Hiss tank would be a Leader Class figure. Forget jets at that scale. Figures at most could be HA size & even that is too large if you want a lot of vehicles larger then a VAMP. Make the figures about 1" tall & then you can have Rattlers/Skystrikers.

I would be interesting to see how such a crossover line would turn-out, but I'm not confident that I would buy any figures from it. Maybe a couple that I would just integrate into certain parts of my collection, and I would probably just throw the GI-Joe's into my parts bin :ev:

If they did some comic packs that'd be awesome even if the crossover fiction isn't that great...

Fiction-wise this hasn't been done since Dreamwave, no?

But I'll support anything if it might mean getting GB Blackrock and Circuit Breaker.

After the movies, this would be a cool way to continue the HA line, at both size classes.

It would be about damn time. It's seemed obvious to me since the get go, but they've never followed through on the numerous times they've come close to doing it.

    not interested.

We have enough trouble getting Human Alliance figures released. Maybe what they could do is release packs of compatible HA-scale GI Joe figures for those that want to mix them with TFs.

I would love that... I still don't know why they didn't do the movies with them. The army was in it anyways.

    I'm cool with this.

    That said, I would prefer a TF/Joe Kre-O crossover.

Love it. These are two of my absolute favorite properties from my childhood and I would love to see this crossover, so long as it is done better than the SWTF which are pieces of crap. Let's see excellent Joe vehicles with convincing robots that are not Joe characters/mechs. Making the robots into characters from SW ruined that line and I truly hope they don't make the same mistake twice.

I would ONLY want it if it's in scale with current GI Joe figures...yes that means they would all be more expensive but I think that's the only way it would get the appeal it would need.

Thats a huge paradox for me.

GIJOE is my 1st love. TF 2nd.

I think the biggest problem for them to overcome is the scale thing. If you make them big enough for regular joes to work with, they will be LARGE, and if they are large then they either get real expensive, OR they get REAL fucking lame at a cheap pricepoint.

Sure, I would go nuts buying everything if it was HA scale, but then it really turns into its own brand. GIJOE cant use it...but HA TFs are in scale, so it would almost be its own thing on the toy shelf, kinda how the SW xovers sit there off to the side.

If its HA scale, I would go for everything made, That said, I think the GIJOE brand itself is SO dead to kids that it would fail miserably. with the new movie coming out, its possible, but I honestly believe the new Joe movie is not going to work, and Joe will go into hiatus for awhile.

Its just a touchy subject. I think I would rather see a reimagining of MASK, with vehicle that convert to SF mode and/or bots before a Joe Xover. Im excited about serpent commander, and I will own it. But the idea of a Joe Xover reminds me of the SW garbage and kinda scares me a bit. GIJOE does not need anything more negetive now after the ROC movie.
