I shall apologize for the spoiler. I had thought at six months out, it had passed into established fact.

We can't even talk about who dies in the Japanese Headmasters episode titled "The Death of Ultra Magnus" without spoiler tags.

How about we get both sides of this whole story before passing any judgment? Because while Getaway almost definitely has shades of Prowl in him, he's also not entirely wrong about the things he's been saying either.

 

I had to ask Roberts about Thunderclash and if he was part of the coup, he said it will be addressed. My thought is that there are still bots on the LL who are either unaware of the coup or have been forcibly made unable to do anything.

 

One of the things that's always hard for me to remember is that the characters are not readers. As much as I, as a reader, am invested in Megatron's redemption, I'm not someone who's been fighting a bajillion year war against the guy, witnessing his atrocities first hand.

That being said... Prowl, I love to hate (even though I'll cop to being slower to admit he might ever have a point in lieu of the "cool" characters). Getaway... Getaway, I just want to see killed or locked up forever. He tried to get Tailgate, who is basically a child, killed to further his point.

That's good to know. There's definitely more than meets the eye (tm) to the coup.

 

The problem with this is Rodmius hasn't been acting like the ship, crew, and mission are his responsibly, Megaton and Ultra Magnus have. Finding the Knights is for the good of Cybertron and it can be argued that Rodmius was endangering the mission and had to be removed. Lets not forget Ratchet voted to remove Rodmius from leadership and Ultra Magnus lead the Lost Light to Luna 1, so Tyrest could discipline Rodimus for his recklessness.

 

He sent him to die, so he probably wouldn't care.

The problem with that is, he doesn't LOOK (at least to me), like hes paying silent tribute. He's standing there looking somewhat pleased with himself, so I still don't think he really knows what has happened. I think we'll see that in the Lost Light series, personally.

 

Up until this thread, my take was the same as yours, that he was either spying or gloating. Now I think about it, though, that whole mini chapter is structured as characters looking back on the dead in order to find closure or deal with feelings of loss/remorse/guilt. Getaway's expression makes him pretty inscrutable, but it's very possible he fits the pattern here.

 

It's possible....it's hard to judge the emotions of someone with half their face covered, and with no words to read. I still think we're going to see, in Lost Light, that he's only now starting to think something may have gone terribly awry, and doesn't really know yet that they were hit by the DJD. We'll have to wait and see!

 

Off topic sort of. How do you make the blue clicky box that says SPOILERS in your post?

 

When I post something I want to hide as a spoiler, I write out my entire post, highlight what is to be the spoiler, then in the formatting text box under insert, you find "spoiler". If you leave the text box popup that appears empty, you'll get the word "spoiler" in your post. At least that's how I do it, hope I explained it ok!

On a sort of side note, I wonder how/when Optimus and the others back on Cybertron will react when they finally get ahold of Getaway via radio? They saw the "farewell message", haven't heard from Rodimus (I don't think Rodimus made a farewell message so as far as they know the captain is still alive), yet the Lost Light seems to still be out there, going around, while some of it's members broadcast that message. I'd have a hell of a lot of a lot of questions. Of course, it's very possible Getaway just isn't going to answer anyone once he realizes what happened.

Again, this has probably already happened or been explained. I only read MTMTE/LL due to funds, so if it's been addressed in another series, I missed it.
