I have never needed to update my iPhone 3G so my question is How is it done? Do you hook it up to your PC as usual and go from there or is it over the air?

Connect it to your computer and launch iTunes. If you don't get the automatic message sating there's an update, go ahead and click the update button.

Make sure you have the latest iTunes as well. 8.2... .20 I think? I know can't remember the build. But it's definitely 8.2.

And what update are you applying?

Heads up... our update servers usually take quite the hit on launch day. You may wanna wait 24 hours, or do it like, really late central time.

Yeah I'll wait, not all of my apps have updated for 3.0 support, and some of them might not need to, but I don't want to lose some of my games if I update too soon. I know I won't lose them, but I want to be able to play them

Sorry for my question re: iTouch (which my wife gave to me recently), but recently I hooked it up to the iTunes in my PC (I usually use the iTunes on my wife's PC), it says that it can't connect to more than one iTunes at a time, and if I sync it to my PC's iTunes it'll erase the content in m iTouch. Since my PC's iTunes contain many songs I downloaded for my old iPod, I really want to sync the iTouch to it. Will it really get rid of the applications if I sync?

If you don't select "sync music" and sync just the apps it "SHOULD" be fine. I say that really loosely because the feature seems to be really random with the iPod Touch's. Works for me switching between my work machine which is all apps and my home machine which is all music but the guy next to me can't do it. Although I'm not entirely sure what an iTouch is... :p

Wish I had a better answer but the syncing with Suffles, iPod Touch's and iPhone is extremely flaky.

LOL, I just typed iTouch because "iPod Touch" is a bit long imo. Thanks for the help, but it appears that I'll have to take a chance and hope that it won't erase the games that I paid and downloaded into my iPod Touch.

If it erases your Applications, even paid ones, they can be redownloaded at any point to your 5 authorized computers.

Psshhhh, I'd rather ask Chrono about Apple stuff than Google. It's like I'd rather talk to a human being on the phone than a machine. :)

And seeing as which. It's today right? I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to let some of the traffic die down. Besides, gots some bustin' to do tonight.
