I just came into some money (old savings bonds from forever ago) and decided that to take about $100 to spend and the rest goes right in the savings. The plan was to hit up BIGBADTOYSTORE and get me some Transformer goodies.

After trolling through the site I was thinking about getting TAKARA reissue God Ginarai (with drone trailer) and Pretenders Skullgrin (don't ask me why, I just loves me some pretenders).

Firstly, what are your opinions on these choices, and finally is there anything you think would be better spent on?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't recomend that skullgrin due to the discoloration. I would say find someting else. I myself would only buy 80+ rated and non issue g1. On the God ginari, I wouldn't buy that one. I'm pricky though, retail has to be standard and vintage has to have 80 all across the board. Definte no on skullgrin

According to the site it says the item itself is mint, it's just the package that might be dinged up. I don't really collect the packaging myself and it would prolly be put in recycling. Knowing this would you still suggest I not get the retail version?

If you aren't going to keep the packaging don't buy the toy that includes it. I think God Ginrai and Skullgrin are good choices as they were in the same series and make good opponents. They both are multi-modal, and could be displayed many different ways. Face the robots against each other, set up the trailer in base mode, put Hi-Q under the shell's sword as a hostage. Those old shells have a lot of personality and Ginrai's super mode rocks!

Blaster if you don't care about the packaging go for it, especially if its half off. Pretty much if something is wrong with the toy you can always return it. Like i said, no skullgrin, at least not the one they have.

Hmm...well if you like Animated figures at all, you could get a couple of the Leader figures (Ultra Magnus, Megatron or Bulkhead) or get a Leader and a couple Voyagers (Shockwave is pretty slick). For reissues, there is that Thundercracker/Skywarp twopack from Takara or the Ratchet/Ironhide combo with the custom heads that I'll probably pick up myself after Christmas. 25th Anniversary Prime too.

I'm pretty much all Classics, all the time, so I'd drop a bill on an Astrotrain to complete series 1-3 and then eat the extra cost on the Henkei coneheads to complete those 6.

But that's me. If God Ginrai is what you want and need, and comes a bit cheaper than usual. Then well... why are you asking us? Listen to Nike.
