    Hi all,
I'd like to have your advice on a situation that just happened to me.
I was a member of a small Italian TF website, autorobot.it. I got banned because I had several disagreements with 2 members which were not admins, but just staffers: nonetheless, they used any excuse they could find to send me 2 "warnings" and the final ban.
But this is not the problem.
The problem is that the same people took a new member who joined just some weeks ago, and told him I was a scammer and I wanted to steal his money. I never had any deal made with this person, I just knew him from the forum and from MSN.
The problem is, this guy today told me that because people from autorobot.it told him I am a bad person, he wants to come to me with his friends to beat me and kill me.
He admitted that several people from that board told him at the same time that he didn't have to trust me.

Now: I am not interested in joining that board again, I am happier without, but this person told me he wants to kill me because people from that board told him I am scammer. These people didn't like me and knew that since this new user appeared on that website we were getting along just fine.

So: what you would do if a fellow TFan would threaten your life? I am seriously worried right now, any help would be more than appreciated.
    This is not a joke.

If you didn't give them your physical address + a recent photo of yourself...

Take it for what it is, stupid kids being stupid kids.

Is there any way these people could find you in real life?

If no, don't take it seriously and get on with things.

Well, they can get my name and address anyway, it's not an international website and this guy lives relatively near me :-(

He's making death threats, and that should be taken seriously.
Keep a record of these threats; emails, IM convos, whatever you have. Take it to the police. Since he lives near you, you seem to know where he is. Make it perfectly clear if he contacts you again that you have done this; it may well make him back the fuck off since if anything shappened to you, HE would be automatically the #1 suspect.
Drop him RIGHT in the shit for being such a stupid bastard.

Someone making threats?! On the internet?!!! Say it isn't so!

Kindly explain to whoever it is that's threatening you how much of a small little teenie-weenie bitch he is, show him you aren't scared by his empty threats and then cut all contacts. He won't do a damn thing. He's just playing "my dick is bigger than yours."

grow up, when someone makes idle threats and when they make threats regarding killing you, while being able to find out where you live and the guy lives near you. It's a whole different ballgame.

I think Draven said the best piece in here. I echo his

Draven's got good advice. You don't really want to run the risk of the guy actually being unhinged enough to make good on his threats since he knows where you live.

Yes... you did hear about this, didn't you?:

'Gamer may have jetted to Britain to kill internet fan': Police arrest suspect in Germany | Mail Online

Yes, it's the Daily Mail which isn't fit to wipe your arse on, but the story's true.

I echo Draven. Listen to the man.

Draven put it best. It goes from hilarious to vaguely serious when they actually know where you live.

Ill get my Gobots knuckle rings and go help you fend them off. Seriously if they do not know where you live, then I would just go to another site and not mind them. If for some reason they do know your location and are causing serious problems, Id get the authorities involved.

I know name and address of most of the people involved, most of them being admins of autorobot.it. Should I talk to the police only about him, so that he'll explain the authorities about who tried to convince him I was a scammer and sich, or should I report all of them? I want to do something to protect myself, but I also don't want to make myself enemies that will hurt me more in the near future... :-(

I gotta go with the majority here...I'd hate to hear that something bad happened to you. Take the threat to the cops, especially if this guy knows where you live!

From what you've said, I would report this to the police. These people are local to you and have threatened to kill you. As Draven said, keep any IMs, emails etc, print them off and take them to the police as evidence of threats made against you.

Draven is absolutely correct. Stop posting about it here, stop wondering about what to do, and take his advice now.

It seems I should always read the whole topic before opening my big mouth. Now that I fully understand the situation, I have to agree with Draven.
