[UPDATE 6-11 to account for removal of spring and sliding joint]

I know I saw lots of threads about this before and I'm not sure if pics were ever posted. So here's how to pose Megatron with his fusion cannon open. To get it to stay open this way, either remove the spring in the arm or switch it over to the claw arm for Shooting Claw Attack!! (Thanks to Ogami Daigoro for pointing out the spring switcheroo!)

First transform his arms like so:

Slide the fusion cannon inward on the wrist:

    Clip the wrists together:

    And tada!!!

    Do I win a prize? :D

Awesome! You do it just like me! Other people use the hinge below that one on the right hand wrist, which I found puts unwanted stress on the clip.

Awesome! Thanks for showing man. Will the finger loosen up over time due to the tension though?

Doesn't seem like it would, no tension is actually being put on the joint, and the finger is made made of a stiff rubbery material. If you displayed him on your shelf like that for several months the finger may be bent, but really, you can see how little the finger actually bends when it's positioned right, and the cannon bit has a tendency to rotate out of the way if you leave it like that for too long. I can't see any permanent or serious harm coming to the toy if you do that, even repeatedly, but I hereby absolve myself of any responsibility if I'm proven wrong in a few years. :D

Well, if they combine in any way differently than that, they REALLY need to write better instructions. Seeing as how the right arm "cannon" is nothing more than a housing for the mace/claw cable, I can't see any other way of "combining" them.

Same here, which is why I made the effort to post pics once I figured out what the hell was supposed to go where.

I must admit, I'm warming up to Megs solely because of his fusion canon!

That connection just seems so ... odd. Like there has to be some sort of better way.

/e puzzles over some more pictures of megs to see if he can't think something out.

Oh, I agree, I've spent a couple of hours JUST fiddling with his arms trying to find a better way of attaching them together.

Still can't find anything better. All signs point to that being how his arms combine. Anyone else have any ideas or pics of how to do this?

You and me both. I still like the figure, but I'd like to see a better way of forming that cannon.

The only thing I've been able to think of is not extending the cannon bits and just having the other arm section out. That way, both arm bits are at the front, linked up like the main battery on the SDF-1
