I don't know what you exacly mean by a mold but.... Hasbro/Takara have not cast a complete set of toolings for the Classics Seeker design 7 times.

 

there are multiple molds, though. there are molding differences across some of the seekers on the parts they all share.

I doubt botcon thrust have a unique mold, and I dont think gentei thrust or generations thrust do. or gentei dirge. it's probably just a ramjet mold, and another runner being made of the unique wings. the ramjet wings are likely recycled.

as for the mold degradation and then it not being bad anymore (see acid storm), I doubt they made a new mold each time that happened. makes more sense to just repair the current one.

Mold #5 (by my count, going chronologically).

The other 4 are the Conehead molds. Classics and Henkei! Ramjet, as well as the repaint for BotCon Dirge. And three retools: BotCon Thrust, Henkei! Thrust (which is now being repainted for the Generations line), Henkei! Dirge (again, likely the one used for Generations).

18 figures (if you count Classics Starscream twice), 7 different molds.

 

If that's the case, then the count is still 5 or 6.

Not so much. I've done part of what he's suggesting. I swapped the arms and guns of universe SS for classics SS.

Classics Starscream is molded almost entirely in a light grey. Universe Starscream is molded almost entirely in white.

I even posted above how and why this "no kitbashing" kitbash doesn't work.

I saw, and it's not that noticable. It's been that way for almost a year, it's not obivous.

 

I'm color blind and it's noticable to me.

 

I looked at it from across the room today. Not noticable. The guns are noticable, not the arms.

 

i still say the universe one is utter garbage, it is rare when i look at it and don't want it, i usually will take any transformer, but it looks soooo cheap

the classics one was perfect minus the face lacking paint

the henkei one is perfection

 

From across the room, maybe, but up close is a different story.

 

Across the room is what matters though. For me anyway.

 

It can't be done without kitbashing. First of all, one would have to redo his cockpit section, making it so it transforms like in the cartoon (no nosecone kibble behind the head, because his cockpit section just folds up into place after his head retracts). Then, tweak the paint, and for preference give him articulated hands. Definitely some shorter missiles for vehicle mode, as well as stronger springs in the launchers.

 

While we're at it, might as well do something with the back (top?) of the null rays so he can have full articulation of his arms without laying his wings horizontal.
