How you guys know whether MISB besides looking at the tapes ?
You can't fake the tape.
I guess you can check out the figure in the package, twist ties, creases on an opening flap. But the tape is all telling.
the plastic clear bands that hold the figure in box ... those are hard to put back if they are taken off....IMO but yeah the tapes are hard to replace...
Usually I buy my stuff from the store...
Honestly, I've never really looked into making sure my stuff is MISB.... then again, I open EVERYTHING...
Send it to be AFA graded...they'll tell you.
If your talking about g1, or cardboard boxes, you can look at the fold on the flap. If its been opened a couple times the fold will start seeing wear.
You have to open it to see if the original instructions are still in it. It's the only way... I promise.
Yes, they certainly will.
Perhaps post a picture about the box in question? Maybe we can help out more that way.
The tape is what gives it away though. If you look closely you can easily tell if the tape has been cut, removed, or applied over a previous piece of tape.
What do they charge to AFA?
Have any of you gone AFA with a loose figure?
Why can`t you use the tape?
I really would like that answer because the tape IS the way to tell.
It's like asking how can you tell if a place has running water but you are not allowed to check the pipes.
Sometimes due to QC,factory have to cut the 1st tape, then 2nd tape is applied, does this mean it is not MISB even though it is fresh from factory?
