Can anybody please tell me how and what I need to correctly connect a Cisco 2100 Cable Modem from Time Warner Cable to a 60GB PlayStation 3? I need to connect the console to the Internet in order for it to receive updates and access the PlayStation Network. Or do I need a wireless router?
To my knowledge there's only 1 type of Ethernet cord. Like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Compuce...391&skuId=4473639&st=ethernet cord&cp=1&lp=10 Now there are different brands/lengths/ etc.
Ethernet cables all have the same ends/plugs. Thats what makes them ethernet cables. Maybe youtube could offer a more detailed walkthrough.
Will you have other devices connected to the internet other than your PS3? Like a PC? If so, if you only have a Modem and not a router / modem combo. Then yes i Suggest getting a router Wireless or not depends on your setup
Even I would also suggest for the same thing. If the internet is to be attached with the laptop and not the PC then a wireless set up would be better which would connect all the other devices.
Would a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter connected to the modem via a USB A Female to Type B Male Adapter work?
