So, I bought this guy earlier today on Ebay. I've been looking for a G1 Sunstreaker for years at a decent price, so this was a perfect buy. But notice the stickers...

He has Sideswipe stickers on him! Whats stranger is the placement is perfect for the sticker map that would come in Sideswipes instructions. So how did this happen?

Did the toy happen to come with the wrong stickers and instructions?

Was it a case of a mispackaged toy, so a Sideswipe box and such, just with the wrong toy in it?

Is it a case of both being bought at the same time and the kid mixing the instructions up (which would make for a dumb kid, as this looks bloody strange)

or can anyone think of anything else?

when I recieve it the stickers will be coming off, yet it almost feels like a shame...

He could have just done it to do it. There doesn't necessarily have to be a logical reason behind it.

possibly. but in all my years of collecting I've never seen this extent of mislabeling a figure.

It'd would be a weird choice to make.

My guess is they bought Sideswipe and Sunstreaker at the same time and got the sticker sheets mixed up.

I mean, they are the same mold, so the instructions must look very similar.

Have you asked the seller where the toy came from? Something that odd must have prompted a question at the time they acquired it.

Well, I'm just assuming. I'm not very familiar with G1 instruction sheets.

    Ebay:
It's not that unusual. I knew kids that labeled their toys however they wanted to despite what the instructions said. Dumb has nothing to do with it. Some kids like things their way.

Maybe the owner was colour blind, and mistook Sunstreaker for Sideswipe? I dunno, I got nothin'.

I think his "No" was more to the fact that Sunstreaker and Sideswipe don't share molds in the G1 line.

They have two very different molds.

    OH! I see now.

I always thought that since they were "twins" they shared the same mold. My bad.

I did shit like this all the time too. Nothing that silly (at least not in my mind), but I was rarely one to "need" to follow what the stickermap told me.

Heavily damaged in battle, Sideswipe asked his twin, Sunstreaker, to use what parts he could to "power-up" in order to take on the Fallen . . . erm Megatron and the G1 Decepticons, only to be later discarded by a TF collector years later.

Sunstreaker reluctantly agreed, and rode off into battle to avenge his fallen brother . . . . to eBay.

I used to only attach the stickers I liked on a toy - sometimes it was all of them, sometimes there were only a few of them...for the most part in the right places :p

I once came across a Grimlock that had Prowl's stickers on him.

As a teacher I can state that many many many kids don't read directions.

I envision that he received a few transformers for Christmas and did what he wanted with the stickers.

    Love sunstreaker

I remember my G1 Override came with the wrong sticker sheet (can't remember which one it got instead) but I just applied the wrong stickers anyway, fitting them to the mold as best I could.
