Trying to find the little guy. Ebay prices are scaring me for a legend figure. Was he that rare?
The Legends of that wave didn't really have a good saturation.
From where I am, we had healthy stock distribution for these & they still sold out pretty quickly.
Legends versions of G1 mini-bots = good sellers.
Yeah many people were unable to find that wave within the USA. I know I never saw them. Canada got quite a bit of them, but they sold out very quickly.
I never saw any of them.
I found a Wheelie in stores got a few from the boards and some at a garage sell luckily.
Only seen them in the stores once and never again. So paying the price of it now is better than waiting and having it go up more. If you find one your willing to pay the price for knowing it's going to be in the $15+ range I'd say grab it.
Thanks for the replies, I still have my original g1 cosmos from when i was a kid. I think it will be worth it.
Also, there's always the Henkei version to fall back on. If it gets too expensive, that is.
The ones I found on Ebay tonight were in Malaysia, putting them around $20 and up with shipping. But I thought I would find them in the stores and missed the boat it seems, so unless they are putting more of them out in the states I will prolly be purchasing one from there eventually.
What kills me is that I don't collect Legends, but when these were out, I saw them in abundance. One Super Wal-Mart had about 25 pegs stocked full of the little bastards. It was ridiculous.
He was really rare in my area, but legends Bumblebee was even more rare. Never saw him.
I saw Beachcomber and Hot Rod but that was it among the later Classics Legends molds. I was able to pick up a Cosmos while it was still in stock at Robot Kingdom...Wheelie I picked up earlier this year and counting shipping that came in around $20, I think.
we never really started getting legends till the movie 1 stuff, then when universe ones came around we never got legends till the brawn wave and there was a single brawn, then i saw that wave with cosmos and wheelie and held them in my hand.....i chose smokescreen over them......only thing to console my heart is getting fort max the next day
WOW! Really? That rare? I knew they were hard to find but not this hard. I lucked out and found them a few times. I bought them the first time I saw them. I got Warpath, Cosmos, Beachcomber, Wheelie, and Brawn. I left Hotrod behind. The one I never found was Bumblebee...
I'm lucky, my local grocery store chain was the first place in the country to stock them and I snagged the whole wave when I was out doing my regular grocery shopping. I was so impressed I went to Wal-mart and picked up the other wave that had Bumblebee and the others in it.
They restocked about 5 times then they were gone, like most Legends waves. I freely admit I love Cosmos, he was one of my favorite G1 TF's for some odd reason and I really like this update; I ended up with 5 Legends Cosmos' in total. I left one at my parents house, one is by my computer in my home office, one I customized by taking the Cybertronian writing off then stuck it on top of a sci-fi DVD boxset, one I tried (and mostly failed) to do the shoulder extending mod, and one is the Henkei version that's in my TF display.
Outside of Animated, G1 updated Legends have been my favorite part of the fandom in recent years.
I never saw any Universe Legends after the first two waves. In fact, my area just plained sucked for Universe toys in general. That's why I only have nine of 'em, and the only ones I left on the shelves/pegs were Prowl and Galvatron, both because there were slightly better toys available and I'm not made of cash.
Same here. Still angers me to this day.
Had to end up buying the Henkei.
That must have have been the whole of Hasbro's production then.
