Not sure, but I recently saw the Hasbro version, Ricochet on clearance at ToysR Us. I want to say he was $11 or $10 bucks.

    Ebay:
Are you just interested in what you should expect to pay, or do you really want to know how rare it is? It is pretty rare, but not as rare as some would have you believe. I don't have any figures to point at, but in my subjective experience, it is less rare than (Japanese) things like the pretender giftset, 1986 combiner team leaders or guard city. It should be possible to get it MiB for less than $300 (I've seen it for around 250 a couple of times).

If you want a loose original, I have no advice except to reconsider.

Not sure why on Earth you would want one. Its no longer really much of an item to boast about owning.

But isn't the reissue the same thing as the original?
    Am I missing something here?

Even though the reissues are pretty much the same as the originals, it still makes a difference to some people to have the vintage item. Personally, I'd rather have a loose and partially worn vintage item than a minty reissue, but to each his/her own.

Makes a difference to a lot of people who have some level of emotional investment in G1, myself included...but not really in regards to previously Japanese exclusive stuff that I didn't even know about, let alone have access to, in 1987. Couple that with the sense I get that maximus here was a very wee lad during G1, if that (a reissue Stepper/Ricochet is the only G1 fig he has?), and I'm also baffled by wanting to pony up for the original, which despite having dropped dramatically due to the reissue, is still a nice chunk of change.

G1 figs eh? Well time to come clean. I have only reissue Stepper, the Aerialbots, Protectobots, Constructicons, reissue Starscream and vintage Megatron.

Now see, I'm the opposite. I grew up with G1 and would like to have the entire 84-87 line ( almost there ). I prefer minty reissues over worn originals. I'm a sucker for minty fresh stuff. Reissues > worn originals.

Oh yeah!!?? Well...y'all's opinions are just WRONG!! :D

I can see where you're both coming from, and yeah, if getting an original meant paying a huge amount more than you would need to spend to just get a mint reissue, then I would be more inclined to go with the reissue. But, I'd always long for that vintage bot (mint or not). Plus, IMO, there's an added cool factor for me in that there were genuine G1 TFs back in the day that we didn't know about! I guess we all do somewhat illogical things in the pursuit of toys!
