I'm just wondering how the demographics of Transformers fans has changed over the years. I'm at the point where I think I might have other life priorities pulling me away from the fandom and I'm just wondering how many people my age are still in it.

Edit: Sorry about the poll choices. Reminds me of something the government would do. Anyways, next time it will be 5-10, 11-15, 16-20... etc etc. I was a bit distracted when I made up the choices... Wasn`t thinking. Sorry!

I'm twenty-seven; I'll be twenty-eight in July. I know what you mean by other life priorities, though. It was a lot easier to spend money on figures when I was sixteen and working a parttime job while living with my parents. Now ten years later my father is deceased and my mother and sister live with me. I need to juggle rent, utilities, phone bills, cable bills... and then there's vehicular expenses. Priorities take point, yes, but even if I stopped collecting I'd still remain a fan.

Yeah, the brackets need some adjustment, you are leaving 5-year gaps. I'm 32, I fall right through one of those gaps. I suspect many will.

I'd answer, but my age doesn't fall under any of those brackets. Seriously.

I'm 35, I have a wife & 3 kids, I'm the sole provider in the household for the last few years. I still collect. Most people have a hobby of some sort, ours (toy collecting) just tends to be looked at as silly by most of society. I have friends that tell me I have too many toys, yet they have no problem plopping down $5 a day for cigs or spending $50 on a night out downtown. To me thats a silly way to spend my time/money. I quit collecting briefly for about 5 years, even sold all of my stuff, trying to be a "grown up", but I realized that me being in to TFs is no different then most people being into partying, sports, cars, or fashion and make-up (my wifes interest). And to boot, anytime I may need some extra $, I usually can just throw a TF up on Ebay!

good question - 28. This thread might go better if you can change it to a poll as well, so you can see the stats

Same here. Bay movies reinvigorated my interest. Been watching G1 reruns on Hub religiously.
Now trying to luck into a new Thundercracker & Mirage at non-inflated fan prices so I can have modern versions of my first two Transformers. Did the same thing with GI Joe...

    Currently 20, 21 in April.

I was a mild Transformers fan as a kid. I didn't see the original series, but I'd heard of it. Got into TFs with Beast Wars, then continued into Beast Machines. When BM ended, I kinda dropped out of TFs, don't really remember the reasons.

Picked up my interest in Transformers again with the 2007 movie and ROTF. Bought and played War for Cybertron, and that cemented me as a TF fan. Looked into both the original series as well as Animated, and am currently looking forward to TF: Prime.
