I'm just curious on how many young'ns collect G1. Let's say that collecting, would be having more then 10 regular G1 bots (not including the mini guys and cassettes... etc.) So those of you with more then 10 G1's, poll your age.
I'm 34 years young and had nearly all of the g1 figures pre-movie. I never cared for the figures that came after the 86 movie. A house fire took most of them. I have about 20 left. If Hasbro would stop releasing such cool toys, then maybe I could afford to backtrack and recollect what I lost.
23 here, to be honest G1 takes up a dissapointingly small part of my collection, can never bring myself to go hunt for them for some reason, what i have is either personal favourites or random bargains
32 here. I have a complete 84-86 collection, but to be honest its only because happened across an awesome deal. In any case I still had more then 10 G1's before then.
34 here. Not sure how many G1 I have. Must be well over a couple hundred, and that's being really conservative with the guess. One day soon I'm gonna have a dip into my TF storage as I've not seen those guys for around eight years.
30 here. I have a lot of G1. I had to pack most of them up though. My daughter is two years old and doesn't understand why she can't play with the toys.
I'm 22, will be 23 next month. G1 accounts for most of my collection, though half of the G1 bots are micromasters.
I'm 23 and G1 and G1 inspired makes up pretty much most of my collection. I actually watched the original series in it's G2 phase and bought a bunch of the G2 toys . But when I was like 4 people used to buy me transformers and my 1st was powermaster prime, and I had shockwave and roadbuster. Been hooked ever since, because I just love the characters from the original series.
<29. I've about 100 G1's and I'm done. The more modern toys with joints, paint and complicated TFormations interest me more. I have most of my G1's for nostalgia sake.
I've been collecting for almost 10 years now. I just turned 26 this week. I got into collecting TF with finding a small internet community and some online stores (before BBTS and such, I think I bought my first collector's transformer at TimeTravelerToys.com) Ever since I got caught up in Beast Wars and every other new series of shows/ toys. iDD
I'm 25 and now I only have a few g1 figures left. 8 years ago when I moved all my old transformers I had when I was a kid were "lost" in the moving transition. I probably had about 40 g1 figures when I was a kid.
er...32... have more than 10 G1 by not sure how many. lack of space means most of them have had to go into storage (insanely protective packaging) waiting for the day the purpose built shelves are finished.
I'm 30... born in '78, was 6 when G1 premiered, so I grew up on the stuff. And judging by the poll, I fall right into that common demographic zone. Honestly, If I were a half-generation or so younger (say, if I were a teenager today) I don't know if I'd be able to appreciate G1. If you didn't own the toys growing up, you'd have to have a real appreciation for the retro to love those old G1 bricks and parts-formers. But maybe I'm wrong! I have definitely seen some younger folks on this site with killer G1 collections, so clearly some are able to appreciate it despite not growing up with it.
